Yesterday I used the Disco3 to take my trailer over and Accrington to pick up an engine crane, so that I can remove the engine from my TR7 this weekend!2005 Disco 3 TDV6 7 seater. Leather, DVD, fully colour-coded.

Drove to Basel to meet up with one of the Swiss contingent and deliver his stainless steel sill plates. Also planned to closely compare our cars and play spot the difference. Mounty was the guy and after boring his wife silly with car talk we went off roading round Basel (Off Roading defined: On foot tour of Basel).
Thanks for a fab day Mounty, was really good and cant say how much I enjoyed it. Hope to meet again soon.
Can't believe how cruel I was though. The poor guy collected his NEW TDV6 the night before and I denied him the opportunity to play with his new toy during his first day of ownership
I am sure he will seek his revenge.
Oh, and this guy is the one that customised his front head rests so they are adjustable. They are very very good and I cant think why they are not all like this.Life is what you make it.

Not today, but on Sunday, I used my TowRope (GroupBuy AndrewS) for the first time.
On the way to a company Dinner (yes on a Sunday I know) Pug 306 broken down in the middle lane of the roundabout. The guys trying to push it had just finished a half marathon (no realy they had!), so didn't really have the power left in them.
Pulled in front, connected up and away we went. Only as far as the next safest layby though, couldn't be late for the Dinner!
Then used the rope for the SECOND time on Monday night when the Mrs accelerator cable snapped in the village.
First time she's seen the rope & of course the usual questions, how long have you had that, how much did it cost, haven't you spent enough money on that car.........
My response.... Do you want to be towed home or not.........
Still to find out about the Jetboil yet, I'll save that one til Rockingham... Bodsys Brake Bible
Met up with Chris200100 in Yeovil LR to relieve him of his LR/Mantec sump plate, having lost the plastic one a couple of weeks ago. Not only that, he was kind enough to spanner it in place on the forecourt. Rather than chase us off, Nick (YLR) kindly offered coffee. Adds a more rufty-tufy look, so got those still considering, go here and join the throng.
I give it a week or two before my wife notices the difference. Any earlier, and I'll know it was one of the children who spotted it and tipped her off.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

I got it back from the dealer where it had an electric parking brake swap (under waranty) then went to the tyre shop to get the Coopers in 245 70 17 fitted.
They tend to be noiser that the standard fit, but hopefull the will perform better than the original tyres.l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

Did my very first off road event today with the great people from the Thames Valley 4x4 club. Had a great time on a course that was perfect for a complete novice.

This looked a lot steeper from inside the car
Also spent the last two hours cleaning out the three tons of dust that somehow got into the car interior....nice

Yesterday put up my day tent. Relatively simple once I'd read the instructions and well made. Only problem is that it is tardis in reverse. Nicely packaged when new and has now folded down to 5 times its previous size and safely fills the entire boot. Would recommend the investment to anyone swithering out there.

Saw you, and another two discos (one of whom seemed to have got very stuck at one point), when we were driving around. I would have come over and said "hi" if we'd been in the starting area at the same time.
I really enjoyed the day as it was my very first outing offroad. Will be doing the TV4x4 training day at the end of the month as I really didn't have much of a clue. My wife even took over the driving for a couple of runs but I have to say it's much more "comfortable" to be in the hot seat
