Finally de tango'd the headlights!
So I finally got round to making the standard headlight look so much better by removing the amber plastic from inside the headlight. Used a heat gun and a couple of screwdrivers. Quite time consuming in itself waiting for the glue to melt but would be much quicker if I had to do it again. I wish I would have recorded/video'd a step by step guide to help any others that were thinking of doing it as there are none on YouTube.
I'm thinking of fitting LED angel eyes next and spraying/coating some of the silver inners black!
Quick question.... Does anyone know where you can get silver indicator bulbs for the front headlight?

The roof tents do look great on a Discovery and they certainly give it a purposeful look!
I do still love the Range Rover Classic and have always wanted one, especially a CSK.Andy

Wheel nuts changed, swollen normal and splitting lockers, after soaking the replacements (inside the caps) with ACF50 for 48 Hours.
And the swollen nut that stuck in a 24mm socket had to be machined out on a lathe!

Hi all
Well my D3 has had quite a bit done over the last couple of weeks.
Two weeks ago it had both front lower arms replaced and the nearside front half shaft followed by a four wheel alignment. On the way home a large stone cracked the windscreen so last week it had a new windscreen plus I fitted new wipers, I'm hoping the new screen works better than the original did!
As the rear wiper arm was looking tired and flaking, I removed it rubbed it down before priming and giving a couple of coats of satin black, its now like new.
Today I've serviced the D3 using the service kit from Advanced Factors, along with fitting a new sump as last year I'd noticed the old one was bubbling with rust and I think it had become worse.
I also cleaned out what I guess was left of the nest under the engine cover, guess the mice had moved in comes with living in the country.

Today I fitted a new o/s wheel bearing what a bas d to come off, plenty penetrating oil and heat
And v8 discs carriers and pads to the front.
3 hours later all done, not too bad for a non mechanic in the pi ng rain
D3 57 xs Stornaway grey
D2 02 commercial silver gone but a great servant and won't be forgotten
Today I decided to man up and have a go at servicing the car my self for the first time.
First of all managed to get my hands on a Halfords trade card yesterday. This then allowed me to buy there 200piece advanced professional tool kit with life time warranty from £300 to £125. (Would defiantly recommend)
Next I had ordered the full service kit from advanced factored for £60 inc pp.
Then I was good to go. After 5 hours in total & a lot of torrential rain it was done. And I have to say when you take off them filteres your self and replace with clean ones it feels very rewarding in a weard way.
Did leave me wondering if the previous services had been done properly by the age & state of some of the servicing parts.
Will defiantly be doing this every 6months my self from now on.
