see through bonnet and laser lights?
I didn't see these mentioned on any of the spec levels. Just some promo advertising?
No adaptive cruise control?
I wonder if some of the options on the first edition will find there way into the other models?
What does Terrain Response 2 on the first edition do that the Terrain Response on all the other models doesn't?regards
Peter

Adaptive Cruse is available.
Terrain Response 2 could be the Automatic Terrain Response. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yes, thanks Andrew. Delving further into the LR site confirmed the adaptive cruise control.
And you may be right in that the TR2 has the 'auto' function where I assume the car decides what mode to be in (which would work better if it had the laser terrain mapping feature as well!).
Still can't find the "see through bonnet" being a feature/option though.regards
Peter

I've not seen anything on the see through bonnet but they do say that the surround camera system shows a forward shot to give a better view of possible damage causing obstructions.
Terrain response 2 is the auto version as fitted to the FFRR.FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Apparently all the Surround Camera images all stitch together and give a birds eye view of whats around the car. This was explained in the Media Presentation but not actually shown. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Well they're not exactly promoting any 'scanning of the road ahead' feature on the official LR websites compared to the pre-launch blurb. TR2, active cruise control, road sign reading and accident avoidance could/would all be tied in with 'mapping of the terrain ahead' . Maybe, it is included and used by the various systems but as it is seamless there is no fanfare. It just seems funny that what was a such a unique feature and lots of pre-launch blurb has suddenly gone quiet.
Also does the car lower 40 or 60mm for loading. I have found different LR videos stating each?regards

No, they're separate things. Wise not to go down the laser route for now, in my mind, because they're expensive, complicated and offer naff all improvement in efficiency over LEDs (a case of a large percentage but of a small number), and perfomance is restricted by law anyway so there's nothing to be gained there. I saw this working on the silver car Andrew. It's as though you're about 10 feet above the car, looking down at an image of the ground surrounding the entire vehicle. Impressive!
