Help Please - Front Sump guard fitting problem!!!!
Hi
I am mechanically challenged to say the very least but am trying to fit a sump guard to my Disco 4!
I have purchased a second hand sump guard that came off a 2010 D4 and I am trying to fit to my 2013 D4.
All holes line up fine but it does not look possible to tighten the front bolts so that the sump fits flush up to the frame I am bolting it to, it looks like there would be a 1-2 cm of screw, this does not sound right to me.
I am wondering if I am doing something wrong!
Any help hugely appreciated.

Are you fitting a winch version to a non winch bumper?

Nothing arrived yet!
What size bolts do I need for the front, I have some M10 x 55 or M10 x 35
Would the 55 work?

PM me your email.
55 is fine for the rear, istr you need 45 on the front due to the height of the bar you're bolting into. So you could always trim it down.Bodsys Brake Bible

Looks like your having the same problem as we had at chepstow fitting the D4 winch sump Robster
I can only assume the bumper on the D4 changed shape slightly on your later model?....................................................................................................

Hi Lee
Bodsy pointed out a minor issue!
I was doing a 'trial fit' after the issues at Chepstow......
I had not removed the two rear bolts, Bodsy thinks this would mean the guard does not align properly.
I need to order a couple of M10x45's as I only have 55's at the moment, which is why I was only doing a trial fit.
I have my fingers crossed.

Nothing to do with rear bolts, i removed them when fitting the sump guard i brought
Its the front that was the problem as it has a higher lip, which stops the guard going higher to fit flush removing the gap of 1" on the front bolts!....................................................................................................

Hi Lee
This is a different issue to tone one we had with your bumper.
It has a much shallower front and the gap on the bolts is exactly the same s the gap between the bumper and the sump guard.
I this this should all work out!!!!
Fingers crossed.
