I understand why it needs to be done, I just can't tell which way round (direction) the diode needs to face. I know it needs to go on the section of wire that goes to the reverse light.

Question - My headunit needs a reverse signal to auto - activate the reverse camera on screen. I have the camera on ACC so it is on as long as the ignition is and can select it manually. Is there a reverse signal (dashboard end - so I don't have to run a +ve feed from reverse lights) that I can tap? If so where and what colour?
