The dealers clearly do not know what is going on. I collected my car yesterday and it is in the VIN range with issues. I flagged this to the dealer contact in writing and verbally and was assured all updates were applied to the car.....err, not quite as I thought it was rather warm in the outside world on my drive home. Today I grabbed the mercury thermometer and of course the real temp is 3 degrees lower. How hard can it be when you've been given the problem and solution. This is why much as I like my LR I would far rather never go near a dealer again....oh, and the service pack!

Having just read all 32 pages of this I am somewhat concerned about the decision I have made to buy a 16.5MY Discovery 4 Landmark.
Is there a VIN range of vehicles with problems/affected by these issues anywhere or have the issues been sorted on the later year versions
I pick her up later this week or early next week but I do have the VIN number "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Because the external temperature gauge is reckoned to be 3 degrees out on some cars?!

Hi Japseroony
Thank you for your post.
I note your comments and can advise that vehicles within the following VIN range may potentially be affected by a concern of an inaccurate reading on the instrument cluster in relation to ambient temperature.
777507-813795
Should a vehicle exhibit this concern, our retailers will be able to apply the relevant software update to address and resolve the concern.
I hope this helps.
Regards
Ryan

Hi Ryan
Many thanks for this and mine is a 82 number so well well outside the affected range - looking forward to picking her up from Lloyds in Carlisle "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

I may have made a slight overstatement here lol - looking forward to picking her up "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.

My Discovery Graphite is going back to the dealer next week to have a number of faults corrected including the software update for the external temperature problem. As the dealer knew nothing about this when I booked it in, can somebody let me know the official software name or number so that I can let them have it in writing when I drop the car off.
Thanks
