When the iid says “front right” is that sitting in the drivers seat or looking at the car from the front ???

Indeed drivers seat

Have u tried bleeding the abs unit with the engine off

Say start off with the old fashioned way with jar and tube then done the abs bleeding after with engine off ??

Or have u got a hand vacuum pump , don’t know if u can crack open the pipes on the abs unit, push down on the pedal and then do it back up ??

Maybe one of the more experienced members can help u further

The guys in the garage suggested putting a pressure system on it and trying a bleed and then if that doesn’t work cracking each fitting in turn on the abs unit.
I feel like it’s gotten a bit better but that might just be me.

Yah, happy days Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

So just the brakes , now, Thats was I was thinking if it would work cracking the nuts in the abs unit one by one and then using a vacuum hand pump on the rest

Also great the ac is now up and running

What’s left to do now Thumbs Up

Hiya mate,

Haha I wish ! Think this lot will take me a few weeks !

Yes new lines and hoses right through. Done a leak check all ok.

I will try pressure kit on the brakes and cracking the fittings. See if that makes any difference
Yeah it’s red ! I’ll change the sump and filter and do the sleeve while I’m there and then get a flush done. See what it’s like then. If it’s still throwing a fault up i’ll Have to start fault finding...

I’ve done the brembo brakes on the front so upgrade the rear to v8 next. I’m sure I saw a thread by bossy red the ccf settings for brakes if you upgrade them. I’ll have to have another look.

Thumbs Up

Hi mate

Hopefully using a pressure kit will just be enough to clear out either the old fluid of push the air out

Wonder how long that red atf fluid has been in there , at least with s flush ur bet virtually all of it out

Ah i see ref ur rear brakes , that should make a difference , haven’t seen the ccf setting for brakes , that’s interesting

Am well pleased with the kit , indeed that will be good to see ur pops collection Thumbs Up

This heat certainally doesn’t help trying to get things done , see it’s 47c in Portugal , sod that

Plse let us know how u go with the brakes Thumbs Up

Hiya mate,

FYI I’ve edited the list of things to do further up. Thumbs Up

I think bodsy wrote a post about it but I can’t find it now. Something about the numbers 17 for standard brakes, 18 for v8 and 19 for brembo front v8 rear. I’ll pm him I think. Maybe that’s got something to do with the abs ?

Just been and picked up another 5 litre of brake fluid. Rolling Eyes getting expensive this brake bleeding ! Lol.

Also picked up an active charcoal anti fungal wash your dog and take your car to the cinema type pollen cabin filter. Censored if I know where it goes though ? Any ideas ?

Hope your having a good day mate. Thumbs Up

Drop the lower glovebox by pushing the clips on the sides, open lid, pull old filter. Thumbs Up

Did you get a Mann frecious plus, Mahle caremetix or something else? I’ve been happy with Mann’s.

Hi kajkzu,

Thanks for that one ! I thought it was in the engine bay Laughing

Bosch something or other active carbon whatsit. They didn’t have the Mann one. I have never had a problem with Mann filters either. Thumbs Up

@kajtzu has indeed kindly listed where it goes behind the glovebox Thumbs Up

Hi mate

Sorry to hear about the D1 Big Cry

Ref the dual battery set up I can help with that as I also fitted one, used the T max system , I also used some junctions on the conduit so it connected better when i put two conduits into one

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/split-charge-system-128464-90.html

Ref the brakes , only thing I’ve seen was the service mode to dismount the rear epb, to stop them coming on and allow u to remove the rear discs easier , will have to read up abit more ref the V8 section and know bodsey is extremely helpful

Wasnt the wheel size was it, can’t fit them to 17 inch wheels,

Also saw this bit in bodsys fantastic brake guide

Make sure the engine is off & you have pumped the brake pedal so that no pressure remains in the servo

This we’re the kits I got , bottle is handy for the master cyl as it keeps it topped up , but I just opened the valve and closed it as it just rests on top and was worried of it falling over

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorbike-Bleed....l4275.c10

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Handheld-Vacuum...3818546249

Having a day off, is too hot to work Whistle

Been spending the afternoon having a read of a few items whilst sitting in the garden , yeh i know I’m a lazy sod Laughing

Hiya matey,

Wow that’s a neat set up ! And what a clean engine bay ! I’ll have read of those links while I’m away and get familiar with it. I’m wondering about possibly fitting an inverter off the second battery perhaps in the boot.

Your right about the heat. I bet it’s hotter where you are. It’s not too bad here. Hot but bearable. Also mate if I can ask... what is the item in the photo ? It looks
Like it’s in the brake vacuum line ? I’m sure I haven’t got that ?

Edit: I’m talking crap. Yes I have. Whatever it is.

Hi mate

Many thks ,took me long enough , lol , took me ages finding the little clips and how I wanted to install it

is currently 29c and the sun comes to the front of the house and my drive ah in the after noon so way to hot to work in Whistle

Indeed is the brake vacuum line that goes from the vacuum pump to ur servo , ie when u put ur foot on the brake then start the engine the brake pedal goes down and it pulls a vacuum

They done a mod as it was found oil getting into the servos so done s free recall to replace it all, looks as though urs has been done , there shouldn’t ever be oil in those vacuum lines

Ps, is that carbon build up inside ur egr valve plse , have u also looked at ur throttle body as I bet that’s also chocker block , think u said I already cleaned ur map sensor

This was mine before I blanked the egrs

Hi mate,

Ref egr, I stripped and cleaned the y branch and all parts incl the map. Hence why it wasn’t reconnected properly. It was as bad as the pics of yours.

Incidentally. Does anything ever run smooth ? Look at what I found.

That’s how the pan came off. The filter tube was already broken.
