Hi
Must admit I would have seriously struggled without this forum and the extremely helpful members here
Always nice being able to give something back in return
Sounds an awesome mod u have planned , mines a base model and always been interested in fitting the LRO system mainly for the 4x4 info but after reading it’s quite a task to take on so won’t bother with it , seeing it reqs a lot of extra looms etc
Always interesting to see other mods being done and what actually can be achieved just plugging the infotainment in and what would work and what needs doing to further it’s capabilities
look forward to seeing ur upgrade
Ps , @discomadness did say now he’s done one he will do mine next
Gary the offer will always stand mate. If you need to body off or anything that you need help with your more than welcome here mate !
While I’ve got your attention.... looking for links for what oils, capacities and how to guides for transfer box oil and diffs. I may as well do them while I’m here. Lol
I did a quick look but couldn’t find them.
Currently sat in the dentist.... managed to smash a tooth the other day but I’m not going to admit how I did it because it was a school boy error and you’ll all laugh at me.
Bless u mate that’s very kind of u and indeed if I need to will say pretty please , but seriously Thk so much
I’ll see what I can find for u , do u need the ATF oil as well
Ouch mate , spanner didn’t slip tightening something up did it , hope u get it sorted as that’s miserable
How’s it going, much left to do now
Half inch ratchet actually. End first into the side of my chops. Cracked the tooth more or less in half. Very ouchy! Jarrod

Fuel filter and diff how to , ur filter might be different though
Front and rear diff level are measured out not to the level plug
From reading I see many recommend only using genuine fuel and engine filters

We’re almost there....
First order of the day was to fit the alisport intercooler that turned up this morning. I realised what the spacer issue was all about straight away. The mounting plates for the intercooler use the 4x onboard holes of the crash bar as mounting points so there is a gap of the same thickness missing on the out side set of holes. I just used steel washers the same thickness as the mounting plates of the intercooler.
The washer bottle side was a pain to try and hold the washer in place so i used a magnet just above which worked a treat.
I then lifted her up to re fit the splash shields etc on the front.
It was at this point discomadness knew.... he’d f ed up....
puddle of brake fluid on the floor.
In the chaos of the brake pipe saga as mentioned previously I replaced he lines to the 4 way connector on the bulkhead. Guess which ones I hadn’t tightened up. Yup. After re fitting all the wiring harness and battery box. So all that back out and still no access. So I undid and pulled out of the way the whole harness holder plastic whatsits across the bay. I could just get my hand in. I had to cut a slot in a ring spanner to get the on them but I managed to tighten them up. Night mare.
Called it a day. Will finish assembly tomorrow.Jarrod

I was in 2 minds but with my 80 series needing a turbo and the likely hood of actually moding the d3 it may as well find a happy home
