That should keep u busy for a while Whistle

Funny enough when I done a search I couldn’t find any of the heat shields on eBay etc , indeed think a breaker would be a good idea as u say

Just thought u can’t blank ur egrs without a software patch , I was lucky being a pre 2007 left the pipes in situ and put a slim blanking plate in

Think it was gentleman of salvage I’ve used before for D3 parts

Indeed that’s what I thought about the sprayer, having that extended lance and also the trigger I should then be able to get into tight access areas

Think putting in 15psi into the low side with the air compressor will be ok , with also install a separate pressure gauge so can see how much the pressure drops

Can see me replacing the condenser and dryer though, but won’t know until I 100% check everything

Both my handle door caps turned up, ordered a set of green O rings and some PAG oil to lubricate the o rings for the AC

Will indeed keep an eye on ur thread in case I can help

I bet it will mate !

It’s been a long time coming. Since the day I decided to skip a D2 and go for a D3 I just knew I’d end up going right through it.

Does anyone know the status of metal monster junk now ? Last I remember there were some issues ?

Absolutely right about the software patch. I’ve been in touch with woody32 whose going to sort the software patch and remap while I’m with him for a gearbox flush.

With the sprayer I’ve used them for all sorts in the last, getting the spray pattern can be hard as it changes with the pressure. So if you pump it until it starts to blow off it can be a mist but a stream as it does off if that makes sense.

Regards pressure mate I have no idea. I put 10psi I’m the low side and could hear the hiss from the bottom of the condenser.
Have to say when I took the condenser off I could not believe how much crud/leaves/feathers/crap was between it and the rad !
Mine was leaking at the bottom between the condenser and the rad.

Regards o rings, I ended up buying genuine ones ! Crazy money but couldn’t get the ones off eBay until well past my on the road date. Fingers crossed.

Thankyou for keeping an eye out mate ! I can honestly say it would have taken
Far longer without your help. Thumbs Up

Hi mate

Ref metal monster , the last I heard was not to order anything from them due to problems

If u would be so kind to list the part numbers of the heat shields I can spend some time and let u know if any come up for sale

Thks ref the area of the leak on the condensor as I can at least concentrate abit more in that area but also hearing from others it’s a common issue it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s leaking

Think the low side runs around the 100 psi area , plus with the ac compressor off assume the low and high side equalise themselves , high side I think runs around 220psi when the ac compressor kicks in

So thought 10 - 15 psi will be a safer pressure and also enough to find a leak , which is nearly 1 x bar

At least u changing all the o rings it’s all done, might do the same myself,

Where abouts did u replace them please , was it

Bulkhead and By the water expansion bottle plse

Ref ur egrs when i fitted the thin blanking plates it’s hard to see them

Thks again Thumbs Up

Hiya buddy, knees and back giving me gyp so still awake watching American dad !

I’ll have to dig through the links you sent. It’s the drivers side 3 piece ones around the turbo. They all bolt together and to the strut top to make one big one I think.

It’s a shame regarding mmj as they seemed like a good bunch back a while ago.

There must be other landrover breakers out there.

It’s no wonder the o rings leak at those pressures. They should have had more of a hydraulic flange with the metal bonded washers in my opinion.

I only put 10psi on the low side in mine and the hissing was evident !

I’ve changed them all from condenser back to the joint at the boot floor mate. Some didn’t want to come apart. Had to gently tease them !

Woody32 sent me a set of blanks that fit between the egr valves and y branch metal pipes, they are pretty much invisible. I bought a terrafirma de cat down pipe but have fitted the standard cat one
Just for the mot.

Hi mate

Ouch , know the feeling with my back Laughing

Salvage , I’ve used “ gentleman of salvage “ , before now

Ah, I know the panels as I had to take them out to gain access to my turbo

Thks ref the amount of pressure u used, want to do a full service first before I start that and also wait for the O rings to turn up

The only joints I can see that has O rings is at the dryer and near the windscreen washer bottle ,

Do u use an ac manifold set by the way plse

Thks again Thumbs Up

Mate ! What can I say ! That’s absolutely awesome. Thank you so much for finding them ! Having missing heat shields makes me nervous. Embarassed

Regards o rings. Not sure on front only ac but there’s a set on the condenser, another pair by the filling valves, the another at the bulkhead, on mine there was then 4 more pairs along the cill and up the back end.

Not sure what you mean manifold set ? I used a valve that dad had in a load of bits that fitted on. It may well have been from a diy ac kit but I’m not sure. I’ll take a pic ! Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up , thought that was also a result with them on eBay Laughing

Pleasure to help mate

Thks ref the o rings, so indeed they are the ones I thought

My pops came round today and bought me a pressie , as he said if I’m going to look for a leak to have the proper equipment , so got me one of these manifold sets which will make life a lot easier , can then at the end of the day sort the leak out, replace the condensor / dryer if required,

Then go to a local specialist who can sort all the rest out for me so I know it’s done properly

So what’s next on the list Whistle

Had to ring pops as he left the ac kit in his car , ooooopppppsss

Hi

Must admit I would have seriously struggled without this forum and the extremely helpful members here

Always nice being able to give something back in return

Sounds an awesome mod u have planned , mines a base model and always been interested in fitting the LRO system mainly for the 4x4 info but after reading it’s quite a task to take on so won’t bother with it , seeing it reqs a lot of extra looms etc

Always interesting to see other mods being done and what actually can be achieved just plugging the infotainment in and what would work and what needs doing to further it’s capabilities

look forward to seeing ur upgrade Thumbs Up

Ps , @discomadness did say now he’s done one he will do mine next Whistle Whistle Rolling with laughter
