I’ll give u bloody 10 x mins
Got a good idea, if I also take the body off mine and do the same work u can use it as a comparison, see it makes so much sense
That’s a good idea ref the plumb bobs , was also wondering some of those spirit levels that comes with lasers built in, but if plumb bobs were good enough for the Egyptions
Look forward to the other pics and a great reference

Afternoon gents ! Eventful day. So after all the jobs, we finally allowed the 2 halves of lemon to mate. And mate they have.
I swapped all the air con pipe o rings front to back, checked the pipes and found them all to be ok.
Also went to instal the rear half brake pipes which was when I hit a road block. The original brake pipes are steel not aluminium like the replacements. My flaring tool would not flare them. At all. The only alternative was to then renew the front half pipes with copper. Thank god I had some in the garage. It was a test of my bending skills I can tell you ! Thinking about it I may as well have done them front to back in copper.
So then it was onto aligning the body which was pretty straightforward. We used plumbobs to line the bolt holes up with the mounts and lowered away. Extra eyes make all the difference at this stage. Nothing major to report. Down it came, I wound the 4 corner bolts in and then re positioned the ramp legs and re lifted the whole lot up to finish the bolting up process.
The one thing straight away because I’m now looking up I can see all the areas of dinitrol on the chassis that I missed.
Decided after checking all around that nothing was snagged up or crushed I decided to call it a day and go home for a few beers.
Tomorrow’s job is to re fit all the bits and bobs. Fill and bleed the coolant and brake fluid etc. Fingers crossed.
Some observations. I’m not 100% sure that I have the gearbox selector in the right place. Can anyone advise on a checking procedure ?
Is there a proper bleeding procedure for the coolant ?
What is the proper brake bleeding procedure for these cars ?
Anyone got any other advise ?
Oh and I seem to have lost one of these. Does anyone know where I can get another ? Please
Don’t say landrover

Hi mate
Wow, made some progress there and looking really good , at least you’ve been able to get the dinitrol everywhere with the body off
Bleeding the brakes I done
Left rear, right rear, front left , front right , my pops was on the brake pedal while I used a container and tube
Have to use the iid to open the ABS modulator as the system has emptied

Another question that has just sprang to mind. Does anyone know what thickness the spacer is on the alisport intercooler please ? I’ve managed to buy one but the seller said it doesn’t have the spacer. Reading the guide it says it has one but doesn’t elaborate. Jarrod

Hi mate
Indeed I can only find out where they go, but like u not the actual thickness of them , plus I can’t see what they actually do if that makes sense
Looking at the pic, wondering because of the thickness of the intercooler if the spacer helps the front section meet when doing up the bolt ???

I think I’ve just realised what they are for... I think there is a step difference between the bolt flanges on the brackets for the support bar if that makes sense. The mounting plates on the intercooler will be flat so a packer would be needed. I’ll mooch at the mounts tomorrow to confirm. Jarrod

Right , where’s my to look for list then
Yah, happy days and indeed pleasure mate , think I need to get out more as I’ve been learning as well
Know for one I would have seriously struggled without this forum and the great help
Great u saw the link
Got one of these today, so I can fill it up with soapy water and reach the difficult areas to start bubble testing for my AC leak , also has a little trigger on it , thought it easier than struggling with a small spray bottle
Trying to plan forward to make life easier

Lol well firstly I need to find a breaker. I’m looking for those heat shields, plus I now realise the side front splash guard ? Things are missing. The ones at the front of the struts that join to the undersheild. I think it might be cheaper to source them from a scrappy.
Priority after I get the car running
Clean it !
Put my Disco3 sticker on.
Before the mot
Lower front arms
Four wheel alignment
Air con regas
Swap gearbox sump pan and mechatronic sleeve
So after the mot...
remap.
swap the cat down pipe for the new one that doesn’t...
Full rear brake strip and rebuild.
Check the sunroof drains
Investigate lower colum shake
Source some unmarked front arch spats and rear bumper skin
Have a painter mate sort some bodywork niggles.
There so bound to be more.
Those sprayers are great for that sort of thing, I’ve tried to work out how many joints are on the front only air con ?
I’m praying mine is all ok after all the seal changes....
