Me and dad are both of the opinion it’s had a short engine at least. There’s a nasty mark on the inside of the timing cover consistent with a tensioner failure. Who knows.
Oh also I stripped the y branch off and removed the butterly, cleaned all the gunk out and re assembled. I also fitted a set of egr blanks woody32 kindly sent me. Can’t wait to hear her running now.
Going to be fun finding somewhere to regas the aircon who doesn’t want the gdp of a small country for the service. Jarrod

Not much done today due to meetings with work but did manage to replace this...
And also these turned up at the same time as the back plates etc from af so fitted them on.
Now for a beer or seven. Jarrod

Great thread guys, fascinating reading. Wish I could have the body off mine and get the underside and chassis all cleaned up and painted, but I would have to pay someone to do it!2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather, towing a Coachman VIP 575

Hiya buddy. Yes I’m very pleased to have gotten through this far. Body going back on in the morning. I’m getting nervous about missing things but I think that’s just my nature. I’ve replaced all the o rings I can find on the air con pipes. Hopefully when it’s regassed it will be ok. There are still plenty of jobs to do. Some will have to wait until after holidays. Namely rear brakes. They are ok at the minute but I want to upgrade to v8 rear now I have the brembo fronts. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to just going for a drive in it after being off the road a year and then doing all this work ! Jarrod

Hi mate
Can indeed understand that ref with the amount of work you’ve done that u haven’t missed anything
But will be fine as you’ve done one job at a time and I bet , once it all back up and running , will feel like a new car with all the 15x minute wishbones ,

The 15 minute tears or the 10 minute upper fronts ?
Yeah your probably right, I’ve cast my eyes over as much as possible as often as possible while doing other jobs, double checked as much as I can.
Dads sorted 2 plumbobs out to make sure the chassis and body are lined up. One thing I’ve realised I have forgotten is to get a few litres of new brake fluid. Oops i’ll Grab some in the morning. I’ll take as many photos as possible as it goes back together.
