Looks like another system that needs fault finding then ! Lol. They say not to use air as it can have too high moisture content and the oil used in compressor systems can contaminate the system. If your using a filter regulator then it should be fine.
Stripped my air tank off. It was still at full pressure after a year of non running so I think it’s pretty solid. Dad gave it a serious attack with a wire cup brush, flick over with zinc primer and a few coats of hammerite.
While he was doing that I was scratching my head with all the egr valve bolts pipes and what not. I also stripped the upper front arms off, changed them and then cleaned up that area of chassis and painted it. I also painted the hub arm whatsits and a few other bits. New brake lines on. Awaiting back plates and my brembo calipers now.

Happy days mate and looking good
Thks as indeed one of the airlines hasn’t got an oiler on it and seen some charcoal canisters I can attached to the air line to stop the air moisture
Will only be for 30 mins or so whilst I spray everything , got a vaccum pump so will suck all the air back out after I’ve found the leak, indeed know I shouldn’t really do it like that but system has been empty a good few months , will be my own fault if it causes damage, fingers crossed will be ok
Just trying to save a few hundred quid that many garages have quoted me for labour to look for a leak
Think the ac system runs around 200psi when running so was only going to put 10psi in there
See ur making some serious leeway and imagine the heat isn’t helping

It had dye in it but he filled it with nitrogen and then used a liquid in a spray bottle and found to leaks one on the pressure switch and one on the drier joint Discovery 3 se gone

Not sure either if you can use compressed air either as my air-con guy came to find a fault on my Renault he said only nitrogen should be used for leak finding but i m sure someone will come and tell you if you can use it i would have thought to much pressure and possibly make things worse
Using compressed air carries the risk of water moisture entering the system which if not removed can freeze when the system is refilled and AC is in use. Risk is small and can be minimised with good water traps and moisture removal on your air compressor setup.
My Brother in Law used compressed air to find the leak on his FFRR and then had it regassed, no issues with moisture in the system since
EDIT: Just realised he shares the same surname, Snook

That’s great info, have a moisture trap fitted on mine that has a filter built in as well
Makes a lot of sense now u mentioning ref the freezing
Once I found the leak I was going to use a vacuum pump after but then before it’s regassed to ensure it’s done again to ensure all the moisture is out
Thks again and always good getting info

Another thing I thought of is I’ve got a bag of new incandescent that I was going to use on my suspension compressor but bought a new one
Wonder what would happen if I put a small amount inside the water trap, but suppose it will block the line up , or putting inside a cloth type bag then inside so the incandescent can’t get out and into the workings of the water trap
