Check your blades first. I had what could be described as a knock at the top of the stroke blades were starting to split

Donk fixed
I have just replaced the driver side wiper arm with one from Matford, and am chuffed that it appears to have cured the donk problem. Managed the swap without a removal tool, but it was a it fiddly. Best £9.95 I've spent in a while.

Two reasons....I'm too persistent to give up, and I'm too stingy to buy "one use" tools!

They usually come off with a quick thump just on the other side of the hinge.

I recently replaced the drivers side wiper arm after reading this thread.
The arm had been hit and I assumed twisted. It worked but was making a knocking noise similar to what has been described in this thread.
So I sourced a new one (genuine) from the UK and an arm changing tool locally in Australia.
It looks identical to the Clarke one mentioned here but I found it to be a poor fit.
You can see the misalignment here and the loosely reinstalled arm nut so that the screw had something to bear against.
Works perfectly now. Here's the old and new side-by-side showing the twisted end section. Perhaps could have straightened it but may have made it worse ....
Part Numbers:
Driver Side - LR038123 or DKB500040PMD
I ordered using the LR number but package had the DKB number on the sticker. No issues with fitting so I think they're interchangeable.
Passenger - LR038119
