Okay, it seems to be the case. Who on earth came up with this disasterous idea and will they be looking for work when Land Rover work out who's responsible?
Thank goodness we ordered ours when we did! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

At least you get the SDV6 engine on the Graphite in the UK, in France its limited to the TDV6 211 engine.
If you want a Disco in a colour you'll have to go Graphite and then option...but a starting price of £47495!!! Had enough of pickups: noisy BT-50, unreliable Navara, thirsty Amarok. Now's Disco time!

Agree, was a close call getting a MY16 by the looks of it!
Surprising strategy, I was expecting some special editions including a metropolis and a flurry of finance offers to support the last push but not for them to drop the standard line up including the HSE ! MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
MY12 HSE - Gone
MY16 HSE Luxury - Sold
MY20 D5 HSE - Sold

Wow, I've just tried to spec a Graphite on the 'Build your own'...
Every single accessory (dealer fit) is now listed...
This must be LRs way of doing it. Give us a vehicle that sucks, increase the price tag and then force some options on us...
They must be thinking sod the cheap finance deals or incentives, make a mint while the car is still in production!!!
Very glad now that mine has arrived. Haven't put it to work yet...but that'll soon come. Had enough of pickups: noisy BT-50, unreliable Navara, thirsty Amarok. Now's Disco time!

Perhaps a greatly simplified inventory of models and colours and a substantial reduction in production workload for the factory will give them the breathing space they need to retool for the D5. There may be some method in their madness; I wonder if they've done enough? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Could be, maybe they have done it to deter people who want the HSE from going with a D4 so they place an order for the D5 and also maybe gives them the opportunity to then drop the Graphite and Landmark at D5 launch and keep the commercial going even when the D5 comes out.
Are they re-tooling the existing D4 line for the D5 or using the RRS2 line? Not got a clue on their logistics. MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

As a prospective D4 buyer, what are you likely to do now? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Just looked on the web site. Urgh! So glad mine is sitting at the dealers waiting for me to pick up when I return home. Just looked at spec and couldn't get what I wanted. If mine wasn't already in dealers I wouldn't have been buying one of those. Get the colour you like but not the features or get the features in a colour you don't like. Looks like this one will be kept into old age. Discovery 4 HSE Montalcino Red

Actually configured a Landmark to a spec I like but I guess it's only ok as long as you like white, black, silver, grey or bronze! As JD says all options available.

But not cheap either!

I've just had a deja vu moment:
Over the year before the DS was released, the FL2 models were realigned and in the process the price of the entry level car rose from about £21,500 to around £26,000. Then, the cheapest version of the DS was announced and it was around £32,000; the whole exercise seemed to be to soften us up for an eye watering cost increase. Sure enough, cheaper versions were launched later. However, the cost of the "most affordable" car still remained above £30,000.
Now, a year before the D5 is released, the price of the entry level car has gone up by £5,895!
Assuming they are following the same strategy and calculating on a pro-rata basis, could we really be looking at a launch starting price of around £58,500, with cheaper versions coming in at around £54,850 a year later? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
