I looked at both before going for the Lukas camera as Swiss LR says above. Very good bit of kit, lots of extras. Ive left mine plugged in and forgotten about it. Very good.

We get our Blackvue fitted on Tuesday wish we had it during the bad rain, a lot of terrible drivers on the roads.

Past few years I have used Roadhawk HD cameras - purchased from DogCam Sport online.
They are discreet and fit under the rear facing mirror - Discreet 'so much so' that the dealer's driver was unaware of their presence when they collected my car off my drive.
The full journey and conversation was recorded in detail!
I have a rear facing unit mounted under the high brake light behind the tinted glass also.
The SD card produces a .MP4 file and can be played back on either MAC or PC operating software.
Well recommended for approx' £200 (no shares in the company unfortunately)

Had Halfords fit a Nextbase 402G on Tuesday ..... Truro branch. I have to say I was a bit apprehensive about it - especially as the electrical experts next to the LR dealer gave up trying to fit a front and rear camera (different make) as they could not get a GPS signal.
I am well impressed - Duncan at the Halfords branch was confident and proficient .....good job. Tested the recording tonight and was OK.
I was worried the car may have a flat battery the next day - but no - its been fine - and fitted well by the looks!!
Dilemma - leave the camera in the car or remove ....... latest thinking is to leave.... it seems... but not so sure.... only worth £100+ but replacement window???? - there are so many morons about, its a tricky one? 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Maybe not cheaper than certain blackvues but I would say better than most.

I put black tape over the white writing on the front of the Nextbase camera, now it hardly shows through the windscreen. And, yes, been very pleased with mine. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
