Had mine done today, they didn't do the road test as I said I would keep an eye on it. Was still smoking on the way home but it's early days. Will keep an eye on it and take it out for a long run later

After I had mine done, it blew an enormous cloud out when I booted it on the Motorway on the way home, nothing since, no smoke on start up, booted etc.

Will you get the blue smoke on a dpf disco 4?
Mine is a 2011 and servicing this weekend, not sure if I need to do this mod or not.
No smoke out of mine at all, but it is a euro 5 dpf model.
Thanks
Not sure when they introduced the change - mines a MY10.

Oil leak from exhaust, is this a symptom of oil drain pipe
I had the dreaded smoke under hard acceleration after driving steady on my Disco 4 13 plate SDV6. It runs fine no loss of power and does not always happen. Normally when I have been driving steadily for a while. Happens generally when accelerate hard, big ploom of smoke out the back it clears and then seem ok for a while. I assumed it was the secondary turbo oil drain pipe which I know Land Rover have issued a technical notice. However I have had it up on the lift today and there is quite a bit of oil leaking from the exhaust at the joint between the Cat & DPF. Looks clean around the Turbo no signs of a leak. It has been using oil about a litre every 3000 miles. Any advise what it might be. Thanks in advance.

I’ve taken ours in to our usual garage this morning, having bought the parts ages ago. Guessing he doesn’t want to do it, reckons he can’t get to the starter as his ramp doesn’t go high enough, so he’s spoken to a ‘Land Rover specialist’ that he knows who says it’s a pain in the a**e of a job, c£300 labour, and needs electronic resets etc... so I’m now looking for someone else in the North West to do it if anyone has any recommendations!

Yes removing the starter motor is a b but a decent garage should be able to do it without too much issue.

What a lazy prick. I did mine on the ground in my driveway and he can’t do it on a hoist? Take it elsewhere.

Right, I’ve got this issue now. Don’t have the smoke on acceleration, but “Restricted Performance” coming up, along with, em restricted performance.
Water and oil in the secondary turbo hose.....booked it in with Disco Mikey as he’s got nothing better to do "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
