So what is the ideal external power supply when doing CCF updates? I have a couple of battery chargers but I guess I need one of these c-tek smart chargers, more cash??!!!D3 Tonga HSE 2005

I use the mxs25. But if you want the ideal, then I believe a 50amp supply is recommended.

Using a second car is the alternative for long flashes if you don't want to fork out for an expensive supply. For the shorter CCF updates, a well charged battery with a smaller CTEK (e.g. MXS10) is likely to be fine.

It will be tried out on Saturday when swmbo goes on her spa weekend! COD and three flash will do nicely!
I would have done it with the Nanocom but the fbh light coming on with the lights would have driven me round the bend, even though I would love a lights on indicator!D3 Tonga HSE 2005

Be sure to read the recovery instructions before flashing the Body Control ECU since this is the riskier one. When precautions are taken, it will go smoothly http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/

I've done most upgrades to my D3 using the IID but the three flash is not one of them.
For sure I'd like to have the 3 flashes but the number of warnings about lock damage, pulling fuses out etc. fills me with dread because my track record with the IID isn't great and if it can go wrong it very probably will.
I've never been confident using my IID tool, I just find it too damn confusing. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails
Make your own Narpy grill thread
I'm not scared, I'm outta here.
