It certainly is a fantastic place if you like driving up a road to see what's at the end. Still have to pinch myself re that this is the top of Europe and North of the Arctic Circle. The scenery is epic, whatever the weather and well worth the 2,000 miles to get here, which are themselves part of the trip.
I must say it's a relief to get on the better roads, especially those with a white line down the middle as the locals give no quarter. I hurt my neck in North Cape and after a couple of hundred miles of virtually single track & not very smooth road I can hardly turn my head at the end of the day.
Still debating whether I want to go to the Adolfkanon in Harstad but thinking of now going to head inland towards Kiruna (o/n somewhere on the way) then follow the E45 down the spine of Sweden. The aim is to get to Lund/Malmö for Saturday night which should work in fine with a couple of stops I've got in mind. Data coverage is pants in Sweden apart from main roads & towns so the Glympse blip may come and go a lot more, and go completely when I go up into the wilderness area. Neck withstanding.

Executive decision made, not go the energy to head up to Harsted for the Adolfkanon so now on road to Kiruna. Might get up early and do the mine tour but did it two years ago so might not.
Tonight's wild campervanning spot, nicely off the main road and still in Norway so still got data. I'm ignoring the snow 5ft from the car, will wrap up well to sleep tonight.
Excellent write up, keep it coming SWMBO just confirmed if finances agree we may fit a trip in next year, if not 2017 for definite LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Will do. Had to move from last spot as whilst it was ideal, it was also the parking space for a hut/cottage hidden from view. However remorte the chance, didn't fancy getting a tap on the window. Good spot now even if it did require a little bit of impromptu offroading to squeeze through a gap.
View through the present front bedroom window.

Just keep the noise down, some of us are trying to watch Mad Max 3 up here.

Was nice and toastie last night, no wind but also no bugs. Breakfast was coffee and wild berries, well it said wild berries on the front of the pack of muesli.
Off now back to Sweden so expect big holes in coverages. Plus for some reason the ipad didn't charge last night so it may die an inglorious death. Off now to see if Swedish customs will let me in.

Strangely enough don't have any abba on the iPhone. Driving to Fleetwood Mac at the mo, real blast from the past.
Off up into the wilderness W of Porjus next so will not get a signal, guaranteed. Hopefully the bears will not try and snuggle in tonight. Got a hotel booked in Östersund for tomorrow night, just to rest my weary bones in.
PS sat in a supermarket car park in Galliväre & thought "only in Swden, & maybe Norway, would the big splash advert in the car park be for lead free beer"!!

Greetings from the Sjöfallet National Park, well I would have said that but 3 Sweden doesn't cover within 100 miles of it.
Great place, away from everything apart from reindeer and fantastic place to wild camp.

Campsite was up off the main road bu Satisjaur lake, great views and nice and peaceful apart from some reindeer moving through at some ungodly hour this morning. Have they no respect, I need my beauty sleep!

I wasn't bothering doing a Glympse as coverage on the E45 is pretty dire, presently in JokkMokk about to cross the Arctic Circle southbound. The only fixed point I have is the Scandic in Lund on Saturday night (1031 miles away) before the bridge to Denmark, will see how I feel re wild camping locations.

Hey DSL, If you need a cuppa on the way I'm near Jönköping. Looks like you will go right past.
EDIT: Just noticed you are taking the E45 so you won't - sorry
I have Tetley too!
Fire me a PM if interested and I'll send you my number.
Cheers

Thanks for the offer but will be the other side (Gothenburg) then, hacking down to Lund.
Certainly glad I'm taking the E45, it's a lot less boring than the E4 and a lot quieter. You go through the odd place but that's not a problem, good for diesel & wee stops.
