Ok, status is still the same. All OK, except that the fogs wont deactivate when head lamp activates when dark..
I have checked the connections and can report this:
PIN 7 (brown/purple) 12.3 volt when ignition on
PIN 3 (blue/purple) 12.3 volt when ignition on
PIN 10 (black=ground) - NOTE! When using this PIN at light switch for ground when checking other connections for volt, its OK, but when I test the same wire at the relay (used a piggyback on this one), I get no volt in my measuring.. This might be the one causing the issue?
PIN 16 (red/orange) 12.3 volt when ignition on

And a status for the light switch positions.
OFF - Fog lamps activated during both day and night
Side lamps - Fog lamps activated during both day and night, no side lamps at all.
ON - Fog lamps activated during day, supplemented with head lamp (+ side lamps) and tail light when dark
Auto - Same as ON
Something is a bit off isnt it?
Edit: Can also mention that I tried my other relay (NC) and then there was no fog lights activated at all.
I'm a bit confused by the lack of sidelights but, yes, it would seem that the ground is the issue.
Try running a feed straight from the battery and see if it shuts them off.
No fogs at all with the other relay? That is very odd. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Update: It was the bloody ground that messed it all up !
Straightened it out, and now works as intended ! Fogs deactivate when dark (auto position) and only high beam, sidelight and tail light activates. Superb!
The tell tale light is on second thought kinda handy. It will indicate visual when your DRL are active and not (even though you could tell by the activate of the instrument lights as well, but not always easy to see under different conditions).
So all in all very pleased with the result! The car suddenly got a very modern expression . This setup came with most cars with face lifts in Norway in 2011.
The piggybacks I used some of was a nightmare, and the connections looks awful, will need to clean this up as soon as possible with better cable/shrink shoes. But when I now know that it works, it's easier to clean this up !
Thanks so much to "Lost for Words" for all the help. Would have needed a lot more research before I could do this without you. Very much appreciated!

Hi all,
A litle status update on this one.
Works really great!! Alot more modern look to a now 10 year old car:-)!
Only "problem" I have is that the D3 DRL switches slow when it changes from day/night, ie tunnels. I havent tested tjhe DRL without this mod, but have heard ppl say its slow.
Anyways, back to what I really was wondering about..
With this mod, when I change the lightswitch from 0 to auto, I dont get parklight when switch to "only parklight". And when runninglights position (left to auto). Both headlamps and foglights activate.
I had the car on its periodic control and got notification on parklight. And rear foglight (not sure if its related to the mod, but will check out).
Even when I pull out the relaymod the parklights wont activate, but on the headlamp settings they illuminate with the xenon. So they are working allright.
Sounds like a dodgy light switch? Do they work on auto?Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

A alitle update on this one. Had the car on MOT test and got a remark on parklight not working. The parklight work fine when I have the running light on. But here in Norway vehicles are supposed to have the parklight (front and rear) enabled when car left alone on the road shoulder for an example. That means even when the key is out and door locked also.
So I havent got my head around this one with this mod. I removed the relay and enabled back the Scandinavian DRL in CCF. Still same results.
With relay IN and Scandinavian DRL disabled:
Lightswitch in position:
1 - Only foglights (correct)
2 - Runninglights (front and rear) and foglight (incorrect)
3 - Runninglights (front and rear) and foglight and instrumentlight (incorrect)
4 - Only foglights during day and runninglights (front and rear) and instrumentlight when dark (correct)
With relay OUT and Scandinavian DRL enabled:
Lightswitch in position:
1 - Runninglights (front and rear) and foglight (incorrect)
2 - Runninglights (front and rear) and foglight (incorrect)
3 - Runninglights (front and rear) and foglight and instrumentlight (incorrect)
4 - Runninglights (front and rear) and foglight and instrumentlight (when dark)(incorrect)
Is it possible to get this following results with relay or should I just connect the wires back as it was original to pass the MOT?
With realy IN and Scandinavian DRL disabled or enabled:
Lightswitch in position:
1 - Only foglights
2 - Only parklight front and rear (even with ignition off and key out)
3 - Runninglights and instrumentlights
4 - Only foglights during day - switch to runninglights front and rear when dark (as is)
And here is how the relay are connected now:
Lightswitch PIN 3 (blue/red wire) to Relay PIN 30
Lightswitch PIN 7 (thick brown/purple) to Relay PIN 87a
Lightswitch PIN 10 (black) to Relay PIN 85
Lightswitch PIN 16 (red/orange) to Relay PIN 86
Relay PIN 87 not in use
I use a NC relay, and it looks like this:
Hope I made myself understood

Update:
I disabled the relay and connected all the wires back to original. Measured all the wires, seems ok!
But I still have issues with the sidelights. When in position 1 there are no sidelights. Not when key out of ignition and not when ignition on.
BUT, when I start the engine, the head lamps and sidelights activates in this position? LOL, that is very strange.
Might be the lightswitch that is bad. Ill try to borrow one to see if I get the same result.
It couldnt be a option for this in CCF that I have missed out?
My apologies for not replying sooner - I saw your post before, and meant to come back to it to digest it fully, but I'm afraid I forgot.
I'm almost certain that the sidelight pole of the light switch is at fault. The exra voltage when the engine's running is enough to bridge the poor connection, giving the results you see. Sort the switch out, refit the relay as before with DRLs disabled, and all should be well.
