Yes, that'd work. Thumbs Up

Pin 3 goes to the front fogs via Fuse 38 in the CJB. Blue/Red wire.
Pin 7 is the ignition live feed to them. Brown/Purple wire.

Pin 16 is the auto lights (Red/Orange wire) and Pin 10 is just ground (Black wire).

The main difference with that is that it won't remove the tell-tale. Wink

Thumbs Up

Add a resistor to avoid the tell-tale then?

No, it's not a case of that.

The tell-tale is connected to the same circuit as the fogs themselves so only by connecting after the junction and isolating it using the changeover relay can this be avoided, unless a separate relay is used to cut if off. Thumbs Up

Of course, if the light doesn't bother you it doesn't matter either way.

Well, I would possible be bothered by this light. Even tho I dont know what it looks like? Or how much it glows. Is it the green fog light we are talking about?

So what you are saying is that I should choose to approach this with the schematic you posted instead of the solution mentioned in the other post:)? Will try to make a crack at it upcoming weekend Smile .

Yes, IIRC, the front is green, rear is amber/yellow.

If you want to avoid the light, then do it on the fog loom as per my diagram but essentially they are pretty much the same otherwise. Thumbs Up

I think you just pull the panel away and there are 4 screws. Thumbs Up

Thanks! Did not need to take out the screws, the switch can just stay at the panel:).

Couldnt wait until the weekend, so here goes. I have disabled the "Scandinavian Daytime Running Lights" in the CCF and tested. No lights during daylight with switch in autoposition now. Good.

So the wires and relays.

I will attach som images and comment them.

If I look at the pins on the switch, they are marked with different numbers and letters. So im not quite sure where pin1, 3, 5 etc is. EDIT: I see what u mean now- PIN 1 up left to pin 8 and bottom pins from left 9 - 16 Smile

And when I look at the wires to the switch, there are 2x brown/purple and 2x red/orange. Two of them are abit thicker then the others.

For relay I have chosen this switching relay that is normally closed (am I correct)?

Otherwise I have a NC relay (not switching, but recon I need the switching relay).

Any comments?

So basically what I need to confirm before I start cutting wires is if the relay is OK?

Sounds like you've got it now but it's the larger brown/pink one as it feeds the fogs themselves, whereas the other is a feed that ends up at the BCM (so no large current). The red/orange one, being pin 16, is the one on the end. Thumbs Up

No need for the switching relay if you're doing it this way, a standard NC one is fine (but either will work since a changeover relay is essentially both). Wink

Im sorry my noobish questions, but its a learing prosess Embarassed ..

If u look at the plug to the head lamp switch with all the wires. What would be the best way to connect the relay?

For example - the brown/purple one. Cut this and connect both ends to the pin 30 on relay? Is this correct?

I would suggest two options - Either solder and heat shrink or piggyback spade connectors. Wink

The latter is easiest and can be done such that it can be easily removed:

Cut the relevant wire and crimp a male onto one end and a female onto the other. Take another short piece of wire and crimp a female onto one end to attach to the relay pin and a piggyback on the other end. The piggyback can then be connected to both of the other terminals. Thumbs Up

Ok, so far so good.

Connected all the cables. Is it correct that nothing goes on pin 87 on relay?

When starting car with switch in auto position, only fog lights up Thumbs Up !! Great!

When dark (tunnels etc) the head light lights up, but the fog does not deactivate. Hmm.. What have I done wrong?

Nothing on 87, it's just the 87a NC one you need. Thumbs Up

Check the connections on the low current side of the relay - 85 and 86. Wink
