Yes bud its my mark that I put on, its had belts before but the rear belt looked like the original, but the front has been changed.
The tensioner snapped off when I undid the bolt that was holding it to the casing, i heard it crack off, this is the worst one I have done..

it is reasonable to disassemble my engine to inspect preventively the state and type of oil pump?
which is time and cost can have this operation?
the mine is an SALLA****6A369**** ...date of manufacture 11-nov-2005
Yours is not in the prime range for the problem.
If you're going to take it apart, you may as well have a new pump and another set of belts anyway.
in my opinion and flack and myself see it last weekend there aint no prime range ,if your going to look at it change it

And the extra oil pressure from a new pump can only be a good thing.
Have heard a few with 130-140k miles start up from cold, and they rattle and keep he oil pressure light on for a good 10 seconds. A new pump puts the light out in 2 My D3 Build Thread

I would actually do, in fact I have been hearing one second boooong when booting from 100 or 150,000 km ago, despite the cold engine has never finished off the witness of oil more than 2 or 3 seconds.....but the problem we have here, is that for these things or go to the dealer or nothing at all ... no one who can and know how to make these preventive repairs with true knowledge ... we only possible alternative to go to a dealer or them for yourself, which is not my case ...lost in translation!

So you reckon failure is as likely on the other pump versions? Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Well yes because we have had some early failures, but not as many as the 07 to 08 range. The pump casings on the early ones look identical to the ones that are failing, so the only way to be sure and confident would be to change it..

Being a new owner a 1 owner full main LR dealer serviced 2008 D3 (now just over a month), within the first week I booked her in to have 7yr service with belts/tensioners/oil pump and water pump for good measure, thanks to the information have read on the forum. Being done end of month so hope she hangs together!! Reading on the forum of all the cases it would seem pretty clear that the original pump casing is not fit for purpose, and that as LR have redesigned the casing, is that not as good as an admission that there is a fault with the original ones?? Not sure if the system is set up for theses type of claims but could you not put in a claim via the small claims court against LR? If they had dozens of these cases they had to go an attend to contest then maybe they would do something about it and take responsibility?? Few articles in the press would not help the sales of there vehicles either. As say have no idea if the small claims can deal with a case like this but if we put a case together and won it could help set a precedent for following claims?
Don't know how that happened dam computers redone now..

There are cases of LR customer relations helping out significantly for these failures, rather than anyone trying to have a fight with them, I would suggest first talking to them in a reasoned manner to see what they can do, they have made it quite clear on this forum that they will look at individual cases on their own merits.Paul Redding

I have a D3 VIN SALLAAA179A494nnn, built 02/07/2008, first registered 31st March 2009, current mileage nearly 70k, so not due belts etc until March next year, as I won't do more than 12k miles in the next 12 months.
Question, do I do the belts etc.. before March 2016; and when I do them should I also change the oil pump casing as a precaution?
I have a view but would appreciate comments from the experts.
Thanks in advance.

Far from being an expert but....
The current pump is listed from 9A510122 so you could assume that every version before this has been modified for a reason.Paul Redding

If it was me I would change the lot now, including the Oil pump casing, think of it as a ticking time bomb .
As soon as I found out about this problem I changed mine and this was two years earlier.

I know that mine is the latest type oil pump as it was on the service engine that LR put in in 2012. But when it's time for the timing belt, I'll also be getting the Oil Pump case replaced as a precaution.Bodsys Brake Bible
