You will be OK with the new type of wheel ECU but this will then need enabling by someone with IID Tool Pro like Bodsy unless you are going to buy yourself an IID or Nanocom tool.
I'm not a million miles away from you if you fancy having a go at fitting one yourself

Hi
thanks for that, i will get a wheel from somewhere. most of the wheels on here have been sold so i will get looking for. I would prefer to let someone else do it who knows rather than myself winging it. where abouts are you or Bodsy??

I just wanted to post a small update to this thread.
The 1st later type ECU and heated wheel switch that I tried on my car (MY10) unsuccessfully is now working on a fellow forum members MY14 car - the cars CCF was also enabled.
As now suspected an older type ECU and switch that he'd had working on his previous car did not work on his new one.
My advice to everyone wanting a heated wheel on their Disco is to ensure it has the correct type/age of ECU and heated switch.
The new style need enabling and the old ones do not.
This will save a lot of disappointment and expense

I have recently changed my steering wheel from a 2015 lr4 into a 2010 lr4 , every thing worked except cruise so I took my old electronics out of the 2010 and put the 2015 in the old steering wheel and the result was I have cruise back ? Now I'm just awaiting the chap to activate my paddle shift , so if u need 2015 electrics for steering wheel problems if I've read it right ,there here

Sorry Sonny but I don't understand your post.
If you've put a 2015 heated wheel onto a 2010 car then as mentioned above I would expect it not to work - you would need a 2013 or earlier wheel and switch but to guarantee compatibility I would get as early as possible

Basically when I switched I took my electrics out the 2010 steering wheel and basically used the 2015 as it cloan ,so don't throw away your old steering wheel , use your components to update to a newer s wheel ?
