I fitted a MY2013 Autobiography into my D3 and that only had a two pin plug* for the heated element.
You keep referring to the ECU, do you mean the heated wheel add on PCB that is located under the right side switches and the two pin plug* cable feeds?- have you checked that it is there?- it isn't unknown for the wheel to be sold without it.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi yes, that's the one and it looks like this -

In the 2nd picture you can see the additional wires I'm unsure of.
Just noticed the MY14 reference on it.

stenh02 - thanks for the wiring diagram. Bow down
Its not exactly how it is on this wheel but it does help.
The orange wire on the control module (which changes colour to brown at the 3 pin connector) is connected to the brown wire on the main clockspring connector and the left hand switch and labelled as LIN1_BCM
Therefore assume this is the comms and may explain why the CCF needs editing to tell the car it exists in order for it to work?

It looks like the night illumination LEDs appear to be controlled by LIN_IPC signal to the left hand switch which in turn gives the LED supply to the right hand switch.

At least I can check a few voltages the next time I try Thumbs Up

I'm sure that is different to my MY13 and it has been changed/upgraded for MY14.

Update..
Enabled the heated wheel in the CCF - There were 2 settings on Nanocom genesis relating to heated wheel. I tried them both but still doesn't work Big Cry
I swapped out the lhs switch pack and the night illumination for both switch packs is now working but the heated element still doesn't work.
I'm thinking either the switch packs and wheel ecu are knackered although I find this hard to believe as everything else seems to work or my BCU software version is old and doesn't recognise the MY2014 switches and ecu's - the ecu and rhs switch pack has additional wires not shown on the electrical diagram kindly posted by stenh02.
I found some microcat drawings although they were in russian but they were showing multiple part numbers for the same switch pack (ie heated with phone control etc) with some referenced as being replacements for earlier models?

Any body got any ideas.

If you want the up to date wiring your best bet will be to register with LR Topix, input your VIN and pay a fee (either an hour or day depending how long you want) and download the things you need.

https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/user/loginForm

A day is £9.60 so prob better than an hour at £6.60 and you can download PDFs of other things you may want in the workshop manual.

Thanks.
I'm thinking easiest solution may be to get an older model wheel loom and control module although that may be easier said than done.

Suppose that's the easiest option. But it would be nice to know if your wheel is 'broken' or not.

Update

Tried another another wheel with old style ECU (located behind rhs switch pack) and still did not work Sad
Sourced another rhs switch pack from a 2012 RRS (or so I was told) and still did not work Big Cry
Tried yet another wheel with old style ECU and still did not work Big Cry Censored

As you can imagine I'm getting a bit fed up by now and thinking of giving up on the idea of a heated wheel.

Finally tried another switch pack from an older RRS and ta darrr, finally it works Bow down

So I try this switch pack with the other wheels with older style ECU's and find they all work.

I do not know the part no. of the switch pack that works as the sticker has been removed.
To look at the switches the newer ones has the horn symbol raised and the older one does not.

I'm not sure why the newer switch packs do not work - all functions work except the heated switch.
As some have mentioned previously they have had to enable the heated wheel setting in the CCF in order to get it to work - perhaps this is when using this newer style of switch and the BCM software revision is compatible
My car is a MY10 and changing the CCF made no difference what so ever regardless of what combination of wheel and switch fitted.

Anyway I am now a happy bunny and have a few surplus bits that I shall be getting rid of - would be ideal for the D3 owners when used with the BBS conversion boards as the switch inners are discarded as far as I can tell.

There is a 2 pin plug at the other end of the clock spring ( opposite side to the key )

The 2 pin connector is there .. Wrapped in grey foam .. You need to plug that in

That will them allow power to go through the clock spring
