I've received my letter from Land Rover, I am however torn as to whether to use the dealer in Hull which is my closest but have had bad experience in the past or go back to Duckworths.

Received my letter Saturday, Icalled main dealer today @ 3 and spend 15 minutes on the phone with them unable to recognise private plate that's been on the car for 2 years. They didn't want the vin number as unable to trace by that ..! Apparently they phoned Land Rover while I was on hold, they couldn't help either. They took my mobile and as yet they haven't rang back. I'm not that impressed!

I've booked mine in for a check on Monday afternoon next week, I have the detachable tow bar which hasn't been removed for years. I've had a look at it today and it does have some play, I'm now wondering how much is normal.

Firstly id like to say hi all,
Just joined here and am really enjoying what I see. Recently bought a 06 plate disco private sale and am pretty happy with it.
So I have been getting the truck up to standard the usual cleaning and little bits and bobs you do...... 3rd row seatbelts was last Sundays quest. Not a bad job or price had I not have removed the panels to find the last person who was in there had broken all but 1 of the trim clips but that's another rant.
Booked car in at land rover inverness for timing belt service as they quoted less than any other local garage and promised it back by the end of the day instead of two so go macrae and dick

I just spent ages writing and only half was uploaded.
Anyway long and short of it land rover inverness replaced mine while it was in for its timing belt service.
Advise anyone who maybe affected to go to there dealer and see.

Wife took her car in last week. It took them a good hour to get the tow all off and then it failed the test completely. Car is now in their body shop having the rear cross member replaced and the heavy duty tow bar fitted.

So with the "Heavy Duty Multi-Height" been fitted for the last few years to tow my big trailers....
......what do you guys recommend that I do?
Previously the "Quick Release" jobbie had been used about 2 times with no detectable play.
Not sure that I trust a 'main stealer' to carry out this work without a problem Cheers, Dave in Essex

Sounds very unlikely you'll have a problem, but I'd honestly give them a call. Not the sort of problem you want to mess around with. If they tell you the cross member needs replacing you are always welcome to get it done elsewhere at your own expense.

Still waiting on a reply for my issue as they claim it's "non genuine" despite the towbar being the exact same And made by the same people.
Not at all impressed as most of the fault is in the cross member. 3 Flash Indicators

I got the letter but haven't a tow bar a present. The slot on the cross member doesn't look good, need to get my hands on a dodgy looking bar

Got my letter on monday but never needed to use the removable tow hitch as previous owner removed the towing socket and harness and forgot to remove the tow ball which was under the third row seats. Anyway dug it out the garage where it has been lying for past 4 years and bleedin locking pin seized solid. A quick strip down and drill a hole to hammer the locking pin out and then ping the ball bearing takes off into the air. Everything all cleaned and well greased now just to wait for 6mm ball bearing to arrive from fleebay to re-assemble. Will get the old girl booked in to a dealer in a few weeks. So may as well wait and see if i get a new cross member and fixed tow bar plus electrics. Worth a try anyway as it is free. D3 TDV6 S MY2005
