Water splashing windscreen

Is it only mine, my2012, or do all disco 4's cover the windscreen when hitting even the smallest of puddles?.....

Seems to be a

feature that is on both D3 & D4
puzzles me as to why this happens..
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

The Discovery is the most prone to this of any car I've had,of any type.....
I put it down to the very short frontal overhang Question
Btw,I'm still not sure what the little 'fins' ahead of the front wheel arches are for.....I assumed they were to reduced splash over the bonnet to the windscreen, but having not refitted them (post-RLD sump plate) I haven't noticed any difference Confused
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Locking rear E-diff
RLD spare wheel protector & sump guard
Extended roof rails
Series 111 mudflaps
Black side tubes,grill and vents
Timed climate remote
Hids4u interior lights

D4 Firenze my2012 HSE
D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold, sadly, thanks for the memories)
1966 '88 Series 2a....still starts in the morning better than I do...

Water appears to be pushed forwards at speed and then naturally the car catches up with the airbourne wave. Very dangerous feature especially when driving through a long puddle

This was a question I had been meaning to ask, so at least I am not alone. It can certainly be very disconcerting at times, especially if the auto wipers are not turned on.

Defender did it, L200 did it, Disco did it. I was incandescent with rage that these off-road capable vehicles with great approach angles and high ground clearance should fail to cope with puddles at great speed.

Then I found the answer.

Guess which one Whistle
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Another exciting design feature I've found is that if you open the driver's window just a little bit when it's raining, the wipers cleverly clear the screen and dump all the water through the open window directly into the electric window switch pack - genius Whistle

It's a 4x4 thing as Rory Reid found out in this video. Jump to 6mins in and cringe.
