Suitable connector from the ignition switch of Freelander or Volvo.

Inside old computers are a lot of connectors (female) who will fit...

Nota a 10 pin (or more) can be cut easy in to one with 2 contacts (all you need)

Hi. Bought a 2006 D3 HSE a couple of months ago, and has since then spent (much) more time doing mods than driving it... Laughing

I bought a display from a 2011 RRS marked BH22... When fitted, it was stuck to the phone-screen, not responding to touch. Only thing happening was when shifting to reverse, the image from the camera would show up. Then back to phone.
I noticed a small scratch on the screen, so thought touch was broken. Bought a new D4 unit, this time from a 2009 D4. Worked well! Since the other unit was from 2011, I hoped the maps would be newer in this unit. So swapped the hdd's. No luck. No maps found...

So then I swapped the screens...2009 screen on 2011 satnav. No change! Still stuck in phone mode Confused

Soooo ended up moving the modified metal frame-bits to the 2009-model. Approximately 649 screws that is...

Now everything works well (Used the original D3 frame). Except the things already mentioned in this tread.

One question remains, this one asked some years ago in this tread, does anyone know?

One thing I don't seem to have showing on the screen is the terrain response, hill decent hi/low range & suspension height show but terrain response is greyed out... Anyone else had this or is it showing in yours??

How do I activate the camera in the display?
The camera is registered in the car.

Yes. That is normal.

The gap iid has to do something special.
If you look in the rear cam options with IID there should be 3 options.
Not fitted
Fitted
MY10 cam

You need the last one for it to be enabled

I don’t think so. At least I don’t know anyone who has done it.
It’s a non standard config, as it’s a D4 screen in D3

Backlight update, again.

EDIT #3

Final update on my Arduino module! It works really well! I put the photocell under a small Fresnel lens I sourced and mounted it to the center speaker. Gives it a nice finished look. The Arduino module itself sits to the right of the display and down in an opening in the dash frame.

One thing I noticed, and maybe its just me, but during daylight the screen seems much brighter. I noticed before this project that in bright situations the backlight never seemed vivid/bright enough. I assumed it was at full brightness but now I think maybe it defaults to about 80% duty cycle. And I will note that I did not even push it to full brightness in my code with max being 96% duty cycle to keep the LEDs from overheating.

The only thing I need to do yet is polish the code a little.

How is this project going? Is it possible to get some more details? Code and parts? Very Happy

What did you do with power to the arduino? Doesn't it run on USB? You could just put a 12V to USB - thingy (sorry, I'm Norwegian, I don't know what it is called) inside the dash somewhere?
