If the antenna is connected directly to the D4 unit, then surely it must be integrated into it? If there were a separate unit, then it would need the antenna fitted, wouldn't it?

D4 has a different head unit to the D3 so think you will need to share the feed to be honest.
Especially for the radio on the D3 FFRR SC 4.2

That's what I meant. I am supposing that you have disconnected the FM antenna feed to the D3 radio, and one end of the splitter goes to the D3 radio, and the other end to the D4 head unit.
If so, then do you still need a separate TMC unit?

Without a TMC unit the D3 doesn't get any, so as we are using a D4 unit in aD3 we need to ensure the info is shared to both original D3 system and D4 head unit I suspect FFRR SC 4.2

Ah OK.
So the antenna goes to the D4 head unit, and by means unknown gets TMC data from the TMC unit across the MOST bus.
So to get TMC, you need a TMC module. OK. Now I know! Thanks.

Robbo,
I've been thinking about this.
Do you have a separate TMC module, connected to the MOST bus and with an FM antenna attached to it, as well as the D4 head unit?
I'm still trying to work out what the purpose of the FM antanna connection is on the back of the D4 unit, if you still need the separate D3 module. TMC comes over FM, so the TMC module must have an antenna connected else it can't recieve any TMC data. There's no way that the FM signal can go across the MOST bus.
And why would they build an FM antenna connection to the back of the D4 sat nav? If it's not for TMC, then what is it for?
I can find TMC units on sale for D3's, but none at all that claim to have come from D4's. I don't think that D4's have them. I think that the D4 unit has TMC built in - especially when you look here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic68166.h...ctric-plan and see that the FM antenna connection is labeled TMC.
I'll just have to enable it somehow in the CCF and stick a bit of wire in the back and see what happens.
Nubbs, the TMC is in the rear quarter on the D3 and is on the MOST
So I guess your questions are valid, if it's on there now, what point is the additional antenna connection on the screen and how does that make it work?Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Beanie,
As I thought. I think the TMC unit in the D3 has a separate FM antenna connection. It's understandable it's on the MOST bus as it needs to get info to the Sat Nav.
I'm sure that if I get the right CCF configuration TMC will show up without the X through it. All it will need will be an antenna connection.
