Maybe someone should "advise" the dealer? Whistle

How would you go about that?

"Dear dealer, having seen your D3 on autotrader and looking at the pictures I can't help but see it is missing several key features of the HSE model of that year. My fellow landy beards and I believe it is not an HSE but a rebadged SE and the price should be lowered accordingly. Yours, landy beard from the internet"

Talking of odd specs there is a V8 S that lives near me. I think that it is an 06 reg. Every day I drive past it I think hmmm that must be a rare spec mustn't it? Looks like it has cloth, 18" wheels and not much else in the way of toys!

Things like wheels can migrate across specs and when I sold my HSE it was shod in 18" wheels as this wheel size would not fit my D4. But there is so much more:

Walking up and driving this thing would be a surprise if you were expecting an HSE. Ignoring the wheels you would walk-up, open the door and get in. On trying to adjust the seat you find the electrics missing. You reach forward to adjust the steering wheel to find the electric adjustment also missing. Perhaps some music would ease the annoyance but the flat sound has you looking at the missing speakers in the doors. Now really unsettled you check behind you to see the D pillars are also blank. Even the Logic 7 decals are missing. Exasperated you roll your eyes to the sky only to find your view blocked by a slice of metal where the glass roof should be. You start the car and convince yourself that it is one of the rare manuals that cost just the same for a lower spec and lower resale value. Edging out of the car park you listen for the familiar tone of the front PDC, only to be greater by the crunch of metal as the PDC sensors are also missing.

Rinse and repeat.

My 05 SE has got the full memory electric adjustable and heated seat options ( not the electric adjustable steering column tho ) Thumbs Up

Granted; some early SEs were almost HSEs, such was the elasticity in the specs but this vehicle is missing a ton of stuff you would expect on an HSE.

Thumbs Up

The thing that seems to be rare around this vintage, on specs below HSE, seems to be Logic 7. I'm sure they exist but I don't think I've ever seen a non HSE with Logic 7?

My MY05 had electric steering adjustment and I am not aware of an HSE I have seen since that does not have it. Electric steering adjustment was added to the SE for MY08.5, but in the world of LR anything could happen!

I'll need to check mine as I don't think I have electric steering adjustment on my HSE.
Have the logic 7, auto adaptive bi xenons, no cubby box or blue tooth but I have a rear DVD player... Mr. Green

Never used it but it's there... Laughing

When I bought my 2006 HSE, a manual box was a no cost option. Someone here had one that they'd specced like that, but they were very rare.

Early 06 and late 55 plate HSE's did have a lot of spec. variety. I think it was from about March 2006 build that the 06 model HSE's came with a full spec. Pretty much the only "internal" extras where tinted glass and drop down rear video screen.
