Electrical drama

I'm losing it with this Landrover like,
Anyway I have a discovery 3 se manual

I was driving along a duel carriageway and all of a sudden I'm hearing bleeps and the orange handbrake warning light came on, followed by the headlight moving warning light and another one, so I pulled over and turned the car off and pulled the keys out and the car is still running? I've never seen nothing like it, after some phone calls to garages nobody has a clue, it's booked into a Landrover specialist Friday but if I can fix it myself it would save that as the garage is 40 miles away,

Also noticed that when pulled over and car running the rear lights flash like a bad earth or something, is this all connected? 04 discovery 3 SE
wrapped white, 22" kahn alloys, bull bars, tinted windows, EGR removed

The rear lights flashing could be the brake light switch maybe. Not sure how that would affect the engine running on though? 2004 Disco 3 TDV6 SE

From memory is this not related to the splice in the wiring loom just at the drivers door?
