Broken down in France no fuel pressure
Crusing along at 80mph dash lite up like Christmas tree and engine stopped running coasted to stop unable to restart. Tow truck came and garage plugged in diag machine and showed me no fuel pressure. It's now In Another garage courtesy of rac, reading forum keep seeing brake switch but would that make the fuel pressure low ? I had no limp home mode , car won't start turns over fine really does seem like out if fuel but had quarter of a tank. Great start to the hols

If it was the brake switch it generally goes into limp mode but usually restarts

As it was so sudden, could it be the HPFP belt that has snapped? The one on the back of the engine?
Good luck on getting it repaired, and hope you get on your way.

Thanks all , there was fuel at the valve just no pressure being shown on the diags , I did replace the high pressure belt about 8 months ago along with the other belts and fluids , starting to think me doing it was a false economy . The car has left now and garage working on it wAiting till 3pm for their diagnostics.
Rac booking me in for night 2 at the hotel ibis Macon Saint Albain la salle . Just hoping they hire me a car that fits a full disco 3 boot floor to roof plus roof box and 5 adults.

If not tensioned correctly the HPFP belt can stuff the pump. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

A couple of cases in oz where dealers stuffed up the install on the TSB/recall for the pumps. Was told it was due the tension being set wrong on the belt.

I know exactly how you feel, watch my topic (http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic115382.html) looks similar, only my engine never turned off, so probably another problem, but the same situation.

Hopefully it wasn't the tension as I only pulled a pin out. It was a pig of a job so happy to say it was my fault ,used mirrors and it looked ok, are well live and learn. Still waiting for rac/garage verdict and how long/ how much. The real killer is he old belt looked perfect when I took it out . I am seriously glad it happened on a Monday and it wasn't the cam belt !
Thanks all
Regards
Chris

Just had a call back from the RAC. Quote from the garage is 2200 euros for the parts (high pressure fuel pump) and 1500 euros labour.
As they are not even a main dealer it seems very high ! Is it .

If I read the recall notice correctly, it states 2.8 hours labour to fit a new pump and ancillaries. That sounds like a lot less that Euro 1500! 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
