I believe it is the same unit. I've got a D3 and I'm going to install a relay on the wiring for the fridge and the relay coil will be wired to the cig lighter I imagine, aren't 100% sure as yet but when ignition off the fridge will be 26 and on the 4th LR..

They are D4 fridges, which fit D3 but may have an issue as highlighted by DT that you will need to account for in fitting...Justin

If they are D4 fridges and you are putting it in a D3 YOU WILL have an issue, no doubt about it plain and simple, BUT there are people on here who know how to circumvent it by doing something in the fuse box, I didn't want to go that route so went down the dual battery option, but honestly didn't realise how much all the bits cost just for a cool drink
Anyway I don't want to put people off but feel I have a duty to warn you so that you CAN make the necessary adaption to make it go off with the ignition, I honestly have had pure nightmares over it, one of the kids accidentally knocked the switch, easily done leaning over, see my pics, and that was that, a flat battery miles from home in the morning and it took ages to work out what had done it, in fact I bought a new LR battery that cost a fortune then found out there was nothing wrong with the old one and it was the toolbox, I still have the old battery which is kept in the garage on trickle charge. In all this hot weather I have been too scared to use it, so it has been a VERY expensive toy and still costing me

Just buy a D3 fridge DT. Takes all the worry away. They pop up on the bay now and then.

Yes I wish I had but I fell for the same group buy as this, nobody told me hence my warning to others as they would have no idea and nobody warns people, it really has been a scary nightmare making me paranoid checking the switch, if there there was an external light you could see it but the light is on the switch inside, so if you were using the tray and a key or something knocked as it is a very light rocker switch on the front flat surface so easy to knock (see pic) then that's it, you aint going anywhere in the morning!

So is it just a case of removing the power cable from the cool box plug and supplying it from a switched live somewhere?
DT do you have a link to a thread discussing the mod in the fuse box please?
Dos the RRS coolbox have the same issue as the D4 one in a D3?2004 Disco 3 TDV6 SE

I think a plea on a here would get the answer, I know there are people watching the thread who have the knowledge to change the power source in the fuse box, hopefully they will share their knowledge. I am paying to have my Traxide system installed as I realise it keeps those that are doing such good job helping others and making a living from it in business, if you find out you may want to share the info
