Ditto.
Mine nearly froze the Mrs's fingers off. Didn't think it would be that good, but it is.
To confirm....on the D4 MY2011 the fridge powers immediately off when you lock the doors.
Top Notch.
Thanks guys

Hi, Please could someone help with the following questions before I exert too much pressure and cause real damage !
I have removed cup holders and black plastic plate below them. Do I need to remove the parking brake switch ? If yes, is there a screw under the black central cap on the switch ?
I see there is an electric plug without a connector to it under the black plate - is this where the connector from the fridge goes ?
I have read that there are two torque bolts to remove from behind the vertical black plastic that will be accessible once the central unit is removed - are these the same size as the bolts in the hinge lid ?
Any other tips would be welcome !
Thanks moles

Hi moles, ok you are almost there.
Looking at your profile I can see that you have a 2012 car so assuming rotary gear selector.
If you have the cup holders out, there is a drip tray under that has 2 screws. Remove these
Next, grip under the full central console near to the cubby on both sides and pull upwards fairly hard, but with controlled pressure.
The whole central console area will now unclip and lift off. It will still be attached to the loom.
Next, unscrew the two screws that were behind the black plate that we discussed above.
Unscrew the hinge screws for the lid, and unclip the covers by lifting them upwards.
Remove the gromit thing that takes the USB cable through to the lid.
Pop out the old cubby.
Replace with the fridge unit but make sure all your cables route through the necessary feeds. You will need to clip in the connector at this point which goes under the side of the fridge and clips into the units own connector. This is covered with foam for identification.
Put it all back together again... Tada!

Thanks for the quick reply, will go out for another try but might need to borrow the correct size torque bolt to continue as only have limited tools. moles

Yes, you will need 2 torx bits... one small and one large. Best bet is to go out and buy a cheap socket set from Halfords, or Asda have them for £10 Justin

The two torx bolts holding the old cubby in place are T20. They are at the front of the cubby and are exposed once you lift the central console which should be gently placed on the passenger seat as cables are still attached.
The hinge lid bolts are T40 but I don't believe that you need to remove the hinge lid to get the old cubby out and the fridge back in. The wire and grommet going up to the iPod connector are a little awkward to slip out, so removing the lid may help, but I don't think that its 100% required.

You are right reggs, its not necessary to remove the lid but it makes getting that grommet out 1000 times easier so I would definitely recommend it if you have the right Torx bit. Justin

Thanks to Parallax 33 for organising the purchase of, and helping me through fitting, the cubby fridge. With Geoff fitting the remote control for the fuel-burning heater I now have the two extras that I could not order from new as the car was already in build. The dealer told me the remote fbh "could not be retrofitted to my car" so I didn't even bother to ask them about the cubby fridge.
While refitting the centre console it also enabled me to tidy away the wires for the Roadhawk camera.
Interesting to see that you hope to retrofit leather interior. I would be interested in some orange panels, or even complete orange seats with black stitching if that is possible. moles

Mine is really cold in about 10 minutes. I am really surprised
In the past I've had one of those 1 x Budweiser beer can cooler things in the office.
It had a small standard PC fan glued to the side and it was rubbish.
We just used it for cooling a small plastic milk bottle next to the coffee machine, but it always struggled in an office full of high end PC gear chucking out loads of heat and eventually the fan gave out. I swapped the fan for a better one, but it wasn't particularity cool especially on hot days.
These fridges however are the real deal. Properly insulated. Nice big fan and vents.
All good.
Is your fan clear of all obstructions at the front ?

Hi all,
I'm a new D4 owner. I know I'm a "little" late for this group buy but is there any chance it would still be possible to get one of these cubby box fridges?
Many thanks

Might be worth contacting Duckworths for a price
If you do decide to buy one, order the tray for the inside as well as it doesn't come with the fridge
