Part of the thinking for buying a MY14 D4, was that if the D5 is pants, I'd keep the D4 forever and buy something else for business use. This train of thought went nicely with the man maths.
Tom, have a word with my wife will you
Paul, your D3 is likely to have pending chassis and suspension issues. It could fail at anytime. As such it can no longer be deemed safe for transporting whippets or towing horse trailers. Just imagine if it was a baking hot day and you were stranded for hours on the hard shoulder of the motorway waiting for recovery.

I remember seeing that stepped roof design,
And the red one in the pic is a photo hacked disco back end, F2 sides, mixture of evoque, F2 & disco snippets making up the front ?
My guess Is that the release will be well received on this and many other forums ?
Taking into account that it may be the smaller end of the new DISCOVERY family i.e. F3 then we can't make a direct comparison however judging by the quality of new design they have churned out recently the only problem I'm going to have with it is price ?Only dead fish go with the Flow !

Trouble is she has just taken it for an MOT, not even an advisory. I'm quite tempted with Red, but definitely not black, the last 2 have been silver. Considering a lease too, I've always bought them outright in the past but looked at Clvr lease on an HSE at £556 + VAT 6 + 35 months 15K miles. This will replace the Freelander rather than our beast, but will ultimately spawn a whole new family, with us guys being Full Fat Discovery owners.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
I just wonder how the new Discovery Family will be specified ?
What I mean is:
Will the Baby Disco have Air suspension & a low range box ? (as the current FL2 hasn't)
will the daddy Disco be offered with the full monty (as we have now) Air & low range ?
will the family have the new engines from the greater family (Jag ones) ?
the current FL2 isn't a worse vehicle for not being the same as a Current Disco...but if there were a fully specced bit smaller Disco it could / would be goodBREXIT - done properly.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

I'm pretty sure that the baby Disco will remain along the same ethos as it is now, from pretty basic right up to a range topping varient, I can't see it having a low range box myself as that would make it too simple in terms of choice ?
If you require a low range box and the highest spec smaller one is 12K cheaper than the disco the choice to go small will be too simple for the consumer,
The majority of Disco owners will not benefit from a low range box and this will be where LR tempt other owners across from the likes of Merc and BMW.
The price difference should be significant enough to leave the extra hardware off making it a much more competitive vehicle to sell.
I'm really looking forward to the new generation that will take us forward another 10 years !Only dead fish go with the Flow !

if Land Rover want to have a range that competes from the FFRR & its equivalents...(if there are any)
right down to Dacia Duster level..
then agree that having the baby Discovery simple is one way....
BUT...
once it was a small car was cheap-o & a bigger one not so
so maybe to cater for this who want smaller then a FFDisco a fully specced but smaller model will be there
I may be wrong - but hasn't the Suzuki Grand Vitara has a dual range box
look at what we have now...the EVOKE...which is a small car
specced & blinged to the eyeballs...
...& look at Jaguar...the Xe will be launched with 4 & 6 cylinder engines - bargain basement & not so bargain basement.
the peeps we are to get will be very interestingBREXIT - done properly.

No Bruce the people we already have are interesting
6 cylinders a must..... I can't stand 4-pot drizzles.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Hopefully the middle one is not reality. It looks like someone welded the ar$e end of a Mondeo onto an eVoke. Just looks totally wrong.
