I was thinking… are there any looking cars the D5 doesn’t look like?.. and then I realised we’re being a bit unkind to LR here, it must have taken them over a week to come up with that design, so we should give it more of a chance.
People say it took a while to like the D3 (although I personally loved the design straight away) so maybe we’ll all learn to love blandness eventually as well ?
However, it is funny to hear the designer (I can’t remember the idiots name) saying he didn’t want people to fit roof racks because it ruins the shape! 2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

You mean aside from those that have a front, rear, sides, roof, 4 wheels 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I must say I thought design was OK until I was passed by one on the M5 and then followed one on same motorways. They really look odd from behind I was reminded of the dreaded Ssangyong....

I feel really sorry for those wanting & needing to buy a D5.....reading all the posts up to the first pictures, then the glimpse at the real thing....they are having to come to terms with aspiring to own what will be a flawed model design for J/LR.....I realise they need thier ego's boosting by others oooohing & aaaaaring about how nice it is....& the fact it's clearly not.....must be dissapointing to say the least.
Wow, what a load of hog wash.
A lot of the people buying this will do so because it does what they want/need. Sure, some will buy it for the image just as with the Defender, but many will not.
The D5 doesn't meet your needs or subjective preferences e.g. looks. Fine, buy something else. Don't, however, insult people just because they like the D5 or because it actually meets their needs.
The 4x4 market is full of choice - if LR don't build what you want then go somewhere else. It's quite simple.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Did he do the Evoque as well? I really liked that shape when I first saw it but I've been surprised how quickly it's dated, particularly the rear end. It's looking quite frumpy and old fashioned now. Clearly he's got a theme going with the headlights and grille but gets lost further back !!! 2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

I've been runnng around in this today, 8 seats plus plenty room for the dog.
2015 Merc Vito Tourer Pro Extra Long, 7G auto. I think if I had one I would spec it up a bit though.
It's an option over the D5 for me.
