I have 5 vehicles on the road and the wipers that last for years faultlessly are TP in a bright orange packet. They cost about £2 ea for a complete blade never thump judder or smear. But not sure if they do them for the disco certainly could never get them for the d2. I have every other make of wiper under the sun in the workshop and they are all crap. I change the tp blades when I feel guilty as they have been on so long. Its worth chngeing blades to stop them scratching the glass.

AJS - aka "boring old git" will no doubt post he told me so

BLFarrar: AJS and Boringoldgit are not the same person. One sells tyres, the other supplies parts, service items, and all manner of other bits and bobs at very reasonable prices and is an all round helpful chap. He certainly doesn't go about telling people, "I told you so". Thumbs Up
Steve

My mistake I wrote AJS instead of AF but not mistaken about the mail he sent to me re: wipers
....if you are one & the same my apologies...no offence meant.

I too am pished off with the LR parts....not fit for purpose...the Bosch is far better....but not perfect
cant understand why posters are grizzling about the length of each side...just buy 2 off 22" or even one 22" & one 23"...I've tried they fit
surprised to learn a few posts above this that the Michelins are noisy too ???
I just wonder what maker the wiper blades are that are fitted to the new RRS & new FFRR ??...they are hybrids (aka back to the future non mono-blade).
what puzzles me is that even across makes the same result - bloody noisy
 BREXIT - done properly.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

The trouble is chaps is that no set of circumstances are exactly the same (wiper box wear, arm angle, greasy screens) and this is also the case for personal expectations that's why we try not to recommend any particular one, I just like to avoid what I know will be trouble!

The Trupart ones - Sell lots of their universal blades for other cars without issue, must stick them on our website later!

Woolmeister - come and see me and we will get you onto a different make to try!

BLF - You know I won't say I told you so Razz However I did offer you a set of the Michelins Hybrids to test for free last year, have a set and then pass judgement!

Recently purchased a set of the Bosch from AF - they work perfectly and differing length doesn't seem to have any noticeable effect - cleared area is fine Smile

Is tp short for TruPart?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I think so they come in a orange packet. I have just had a look and it does not mention tru part but seem to recall it is. The 22" flat blade has a part no of tvf55 but I have no idea if it fits the discovery

TP is Trupart, TVF55 is the old number, they have just renumbered, we have them on our site now as FB55, same front blades for D3/D4 & RRS

Well, only 6 months in and the Bosch rear wiper has now completely given-up; it now only wipes half the rear screen even after washing the glass. Rolling Eyes

It began to fail as early as 3 months (see my post on the previous page).

The old Land Rover one will be going back on (which still worked perfectly after 2 years). 8)

Valeo next time. Thumbs Up

Just ordered a set of the TruePart ones from AF so can see how they go. £34 for a pair of Valeos is a bit over the "ouch" threshold. Plus a pair of side lights LEDs. Mr. Green Mr. Green

They all work. I've had Bosch, Valeo and some cheapos I got from ebay. I replace them every 20,000 miles so that's 8 sets. I just buy based on the best deal. The last 3 sets have been uber cheap unbranded ones from ebay and they work equally as well as the branded stuff.

Are ..

DENSO wipers available ?
this is what LR are currently fitting on the FFRR & RRS + various jag Models
the Denso ones on my XK are very much like the Michelin construction...
but I dont want the cost & hassle of buying OEM ones
