Hi Allan
I can't do that at the minute, as SWMBO is at the stables with the car at the moment.

To jack the car up - which corner would you advise to jack - the rear nearside owing to the logged faults?

Here is the Testing and Diagnosing Vehicle Dynamic Suspension documentation, your solenoid fault code is listed.

Yes, in theory that should register and change in height on the near side sensor.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

Thanks Allan, will have a look when the car comes back. When we are talking about solenoids is this the part# LR020159
Also - with regards to the valve block, is this the part #RVH000055G?
Kind regards
Jay

LR020159 is the height sensor, the solenoid would be part of the valve block and controls the flow of air to each air spring. A electrical fault with the rear valve block as indicated by the diagnostic trouble code could prevent the solenoid from opening or closing.GAP IID Pro Multi Vehicle Defender L316 2007-2015 - Discovery 3 - Discovery 4 - Discovery Sport L550 - Freelander 2 - Range Rover Evoque L538 - Range Rover L322 - Range Rover L405 - Range Rover Sport L320 - Range Rover Sport L494 Electrical Fault Diagnostics

Right, just been out and tried the height adjustment switch and this happens on the 4x4 screen and dash:

The wiring to the rear valve block is a common issue.
If it were a height sensor, there would be a sensor/articulation fault code stored.
It seems as though when you press the switch, the car tries to put the rear up first. The EAS ECU does not see the valve opening, and brings on the light, storing a fault
Try unplugging the valve block, and giving each wire a gentle pull, to see if any or broken, or damaged My D3 Build Thread

Hi
Just jacked up the car to investigate the plug going into the suspension block for the rear suspension, whereby it looks as though someone has been in there in the past with a test probe and then held the fitting on with a zip strap - so with this, I am looking for some advice here if possible, as the wires are totally goosed and fully corroded through, and there is not enough wire to allow me to strip back from the plug end to repair - so I would be grateful if someone with experience of this repair, to advise if I can buy a new plug etc, so I can then cut back into the loom to make a good repair:
Thanks in advance for you time.

With regards to the above - would this be the fitting, an 6 way econoseal connector - or is it a LR specific connector

They do look rather clean cuts but I hope nobody was stupid enough to pierce the insulation for a test probe in a SWAMP area. Does nobody back-probe anymore?
I've seen some vehicles with enough slack to gently feed sufficient wire around for a re-termination without an additional wire splice even if half an inch is corroded. This is especially true if the damage is so near the end as in your case.
If the connector itself is ok then you only need the crimp-on terminations/pins for the repair.
At least you have found the problem!

No problem, any time
The connector in the above link will not fit
The terminal can be extracted from the connector, and the wire removed from the terminal.
Replace with some fresh wire, refit the rubber seal, and join into the wiring loomMy D3 Build Thread
