Some D4 have Thermo Top V and some (later D4) have Thermo Top Vevo..... This might be the additional switch point between the CAN bus standards. 2013 D4 TDV6 S; Baltic Blue; IID Tool BT

No, all D4 are 11 bit CAN messages. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Just for conformity...
There is a distinct difference between the CAN bus message's lengths and the CAN bus identifier format.
CAN bus messages' lengths can vary/be from 0 to 8 bytes for both 11 or 29 bit implementations.
The CAN bus identifier format can be 11 bit or 29 bit - what I was referring when saying 11 or 29 bit implementations.

Sorry didnt make it clear enough, the D3 heaters are controlled by the same software in the car.

in the heaters the early 790 units have

HW version..........................................................................45/04
SW version.............................................................Friday/45/04 11.14
SW version (EEPROM)....................................................Friday/45/04 11.14

the later 820 has

HW version..........................................................................44/04
SW version.............................................................Friday/45/04 11.14
SW version (EEPROM)....................................................Friday/45/04 11.14
