Adding Dr Tranny instant shudder fix
I want to ad this stuff in my autobox using the top cooler pipe.
Reading the workshop manual, I came to the conclusion it must be possible to empty this pipe with some compressed air. This pipe goes straight back to the sump, so why go the tedious way with a syringe?
What do you think?

I tried that and couldnt get the level to go down quickly. The siringe method is easy and quick.CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS
I put it in through the gearbox plug with the engine running, really easy, simply raise the right hand side to tilt the car a little Altox GSM FBH controller thread

It doesn't go that easily into the hose because that is the flow from the gearbox therefore you are pushing the wrong direction and its got to get through the pump. So removing some oil with a syringe is easier or as beanie say put it directly in the gearbox.

Strange, according the workshop manual the top hose is the return to the sump, the lower one the pressure side of the pump!

I did mine last week, 10 minute job to put it straight in the gearbox filler, put the car in off-road height, put the os (driver side) on a kerb, remove cover under gearbox, 6 10mm bolts, remove filler cap with engine running and in neutral, squeeze in dr tranny, out it all back together and be amazed. When I was researching on here some months ago before attempting a DIY megaflush there was the same discussion and I remember the workshop manual picture was posted but there was still confusion so before attaching the hose to a vessel containing new oil I extended the hose and added a hose to the oil cooler then started engine to see which way oil was flowing, I found that it flowed from the hose end rather than from the cooler, so workshop manual appears to be wrong.

That explains why it is so difficult to put Dr Tranny in the top hose!
Maybe a piece of hose connected to the cooler connection will make life more easy?

Did try to put the stuff in via the gearbox filler hole.
Removed the under tray, lifted the car at one side and guess what? Can't get the plug out!
Strange had a oil change a year ago.
So I did go for the other route, the cooler hose.
Just remove the top air pipe ( 2 bolts, one jubilee clip) for easy acces. Disconnect the top cooler hose and put a piece of hose to the top cooler connection and put the stuff in with a syringe ( fast) or a small funnel ( slower).
Much faster this way and crawling under the car!

I used a siphon pump to empty the top cooling hose then added the Shudder Fixx, it took all of 5 minutes.

I put a piece of clear hose pipe onto the top cooler connection and poured it straight in.
Done in 5 minutes.Now gone - D3 Zambezi silver. Smoked / limo windows, various LEDs, DVD in headrest screens. Side steps, GG AT's, software and Bluetooth upgrades by Bodsy.

I guess you did a flush showing in these photos. Which pipe was used to fill the new oil and which one was the one that gets out the old ? Also was the engine running while you had the pipes connected and did you change the sump before or after the flush .. thinking of doing mine soon as im getting vibrations and thats why im asking so many questions 🙂

If you search FILO you will find a long thread.
To answer you question it depends if diesel or petrol.
The top hose is disconnected for ease.
Then the radiator end is the return to the gearbox on a diesel I think
The loose pipe expels the old oil when engine running.
We usually pressurise the new oil in with engine off.
I like to
1 pump the old oil out with engine running
2 Drain sump.
3 Wait overnight.
4 Drain sump again
Not really worth changing the filters on these. Only benefit is that it allows you to change the electrical connector sleeve seals, which will leak at some point!
