Great news about Scotia Grey, as I have seen it listed for the FFRR and RRS, and have been keeping my fingers crossed that it would be listed for the D4 as well.
Could it be enough to persuade me to change??

Underlining Land Rover’s commitment to power with sustainability, the 5-litre V8 petrol engine is replaced with the highly efficient 3.0 V6 S/C and fuel-stretching Intelligent Stop-Start technology is introduced on all petrol and diesel engines in a number of key markets. All models are equipped with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The new V6 generates 340PS and torque of 450Nm to deliver acceleration from 0-6mph in 7.7 seconds and a top speed 121mph. Thanks to the new unit’s enhanced efficiency and the fitting of Intelligent Stop-Start, the 2014 Discovery with this engine produces just 269g/km of CO2.
I thought my LR3 was heavy, but how heavy is this new car? You'll never make it up to it's top speed with a 0-6MPH time of 7.7 seconds.

don't bother with the Lane assist, we have it on new company car and turned it off, reason being on long trips (we do Praha to Northant's area 2-3 times per year) it becomes tiring especially with all the contro-flow sections we encountered across Germany Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

@Jeremy do you have a MY14 price/spec list in yet? Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

It's either this or a RRS in March for me. I'd need to see this in the flesh but I suspect I'm going to like it. The facelift for the FL2 was a really positive move and made a big difference to an already impressive car. I suspect that this will be the same for the Discovery. We will get used to the change in badging soon enough My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

You do like changing your cars!
I'm am looking at changing my Freelander 2 for a new RRS next year. I really like my Freelander 2 and I don't really want to sell it but it will be 3 years old next September so now is a good time to change.
I initially was looking at a MY13 Freelander for a replacement, but I then had a test drive in the new RRS and I was very impressed. It is an awesome car, but with a massive price tag!
It will be interesting to see what the new Disco looks like, I like the look of the new lights which look similar to the rest of the range. Arrived: 2014.5 Range Rover Sport HSE SDV6 in Loire Blue, Ivory interior, piano black trim, privacy glass, panoramic sunroof, tow bar, mudflaps and full size spare 8)
Gone but not forgotten: 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE in Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Ebony interior, piano black trim & grab handles, privacy glass, lux pack, rear spoiler, mudflaps and twin electric tow bar

Seriously considering one |
|
Seriously thinking of going for one of these. The refresh has done just enough to make me think it would not be a daft purchase this late in the models life cycle. The revised road tax should help the resale few years down the line, and everything else seems good as it always was, except for the Discovery on the bonnet which seems ridiculous.
Priced up a current HSE with all the options I fancy at 56k, same thing on one of the discount websites priced at 52k.
The absolute budget limit is meant to be 50k, so will be interesting to see what the new one comes in at price wise, and whether I can find one for delivery December/January without blowing it.

Can just see the trophy wife in the dealer being asked if she wants the two speed transfer box.
I guess the 'proper' transfer box will end up being an optional extra soon. You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

For those of you looking at the new aluminium RRS (or hoping for the upcoming D5), you'll get really disappointed quality wise. Just try to press on the front doors outside side panels. This is just ridiculous, even a 5-year old can easily play with it press-bent-release! Let's diminish the weight, yes, but this is supposed to be a tough off-road vehicle!
As many of you already know, it's D4 for me all the way!

Glad to see they are passing on the VED saving!
I do wonder though if TPMS is now standard. IIRC it is an EU requirement from 01/01/14.
These cars are getting expensive. May not be able to afford a D5 or whatever we need to call it now.
