United Kingdom 2014 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Corris GreyDiscovery 4

I think it looks good, though they have clearly kept the external mods to a minimum, presumably to keep tooling costs down and not to annoy too many people with anything too radical

The option to delete the 2 speed transfer box shows the direction the products are going (same with the RRS where it's an option to upgrade to a 2 speed box on the two 'base' (if they can be described as that!) models)

PS having very nearly ordered a 63 reg HSE over the last few days (and with some dealers telling me they wouldn't know anything about the 2014 MY for a month and delivery unlikely in 2013!) I'm glad I waited.

Having said that, it will be interesting to see:

1. the price

2. attitudes to discounts

On some of the official images seen to date, it appears that they may be painting the centre section of the roof black...

It's just the D now - or FFD ?

Indeed! Not bothered what the name is, just wondering when the new one is coming. Is it still 2015 or is it now back to 2017?

A discovery with optional low range Rolling Eyes not happy but can always tick the box. I am getting lost now what to do when my warranties up - New RRS will the D5 be out or the defender replacement? Lots of decisions to be made. Don't really want to buy a final D4 for residuals.

It is not obvious, but the rear lights are also semi blacked out by a black plastic/vinyl built in the current D4 light.

Having seen it in the flesh it kind of looks Halfordesque...

The 2014 facelift really works otherwise.

Getting increasingly unsure looking at it. Does anyone know about the new defender? Or I might have to get something German again Rolling Eyes

Wish they'd just release a next gen disco concept. So I could know what to expect. Same with the defender replacement, I read somewhere the DC100 project has been canned?

not sure about it to be honest. Grill and lights are ok, but I think the Discovery bonnet lettering is a mistake and will win few fans on here, but will it bother most people?

Did Range Rover owners still consider they were driving a Land Rover? If yes, then the brand won't be hurt. If no, then there's bound to be some damage, especially if the Defender replacement isn't badged Land Rover.

I think the LR brand has amazing loyalty and huge amounts of goodwill world-wide.... and not just from owners. Be a shame to see it dropped completely.
