2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Tonga Green

Cam chain failure....

Hi all,

Has anybody had experience of the cam chain failing and the damage it caused?

Car is a 2005 tdv6 discovery.

Hi Robbie,

I did find one post on here but, didn't seem to state what actual damage was caused.

Our d3 had been into landrover who diagnosed the fault as the lp pump, they did work then said it as actually had low compression on all 3 cylinders on the n/s bank.

We have the car back and checked the cam belt first, but then come across the broken timing chain.

Is a broken chain garunteed to bend the valves??

Did you repair the engine yourself? Did it bend/ damage any of the valves?

Complete new engine was fitted.
