Almost completed the 'black look' on mine. Just done the bonnet lettering. Tips for anyone contemplating the same job:
Use masking tape to outline each letter before you remove the old ones.
Do the masking individually - don't assume that the lettering is level and straight - it ain't. The letters follow the very slight curve of the leading edge of the bonnet.
I couldn't get dental floss to work to remove the letters so I used a tie wrap with a sawing motion.
Now where can I get the Black letters for the tailgate?

I think the white with a black pack looks really good and white doesn't suggest drug dealer, around here most of the dealers drive black RRS's Cheers Ian

I think it looks great! Black and white coloured motors are my favourites! I think the family will grow into it no matter what colour you go for.
It looks exactly like that except that it does not have a number plate on it.
On the back it does not have SDV6 HSE on it either, only Discovery 4.

Thank you all very much for the replies.
It seems that the colour is well liked by you all except for one posters wife.
I have learnt that mudflaps might be a good idea also.
My main concern is that I am buying something that will resell with the highest possible value in 3 years time.
I did not set out with black pack in mind but the dealer happens to have one in ready for prep for the showroom.
Do you think black pack will increase or decrease its resale value.
What are you guys factoring as depreciation on something like this?

Not looked at depreciation as I always go for what I want not what someone else wants. I personally don't see the point....
In terms of will it add value or not is IMHO impossible to say without looking into the future.
If youre happy with the deal buy it, if not something else will come alongD4 Fuji White HSE with Black Pack, TV, RSE, Tow Pack, Side Steps & Heated Steering Wheel

The cost of any optional extras are 'lost' when it comes to resale, the car will be valued as a standard model.
Maybe a private buyer will see the benefit and pay a bit more but trade won't.

I have Fuji with Black Pack, and it looks great. It does stand out, but in a good way. 20 inch wheels are a bit firmer than 19, but still a smooth ride. The BP wheels in gloss black are lovely!
I have fitted the light guards, rear ladder and some roof cross bars to add extra black!
The cross bars are not fitted in these pics, and ignore the silver lettering on the boot and bonnet, that has now been rectified with the correct gloss black letters.
Make sure its all there when you pick it up, mine was missing black bits!
I will get a better photo later.

How much for a deal please?
A bit early to sell. My last car I kept from new for 12 years and still going strong. I have figured out that it should depreciate from between 500 and 600 pcm over a 3 year period. Paying cash, I dont think PCP stacks up.

It does need a regular wash if you want to keep it pristine. However, I think it also looks good with a bit of dirt on it too. Yes there does seem to be a lot of black dust hits the sides.
Maybe a set of mudflaps should be added?
The dealer has recommended a product called SupaGuard which they claim will make it easier to keep keen. Hopefully a good investment, TBH I am not the sort of bloke that likes to spend time cleaning cars.

er, meant the Ganja.
This is my point, I am not worldy wise in such matters!
The D4 is an absolutely stunning car, my reason for wanting one is I need 7 seats for trips to France with enough space that the kids dont kill each other like they do now. It was either a Galaxy or D4 but having driven both the D4 is a car like no other.
White is growing on me and in my opinion a great combo with black pack, i just hope it does not draw too much attention.

Don't get it Supagarded by the dealer. Google supagard and find a local franchisee who will come and do it for a lot less. My dealer wanted £400 and I got it done inside and out for £250.
