Just wondering...how exactly DO you remove the crankshaft position sensor without removing turbo or body? Can it be done without removing gearbox or any other major component?

Can be done without removing body turbo or gearbox but its bloody tight and do not drop the screw or your torx bit inside the bell housing otherwise you are in for a world of pain

Cheers for that TT86.
So how do you reach through to it - via wheel arch, from underneath (presumably with vehicle on ramp) or from engine compartment?

Hi, I have found myself in a similar situation,tdv6 will not start, showing crankshaft angle sensor fault, not keen on removing automatic gearbox to access sensor and less keen to lift body. i would welcome the challenge to replace sensor without either excess if it is indeed possible. I would appreciate If anybody could provide some direction on this.

Dear Disco3-lovers.
I'm in big trouble with my disco. Like the name of the treat....my CPS is bad and I couldn't find a garage (here in the region of Weimar, Germany) to help me with this.
Has anyone a detailed description how to replace the CPS??
What is necessary to do??
The LR-dealer likes to lift the body of. This is much too expensive for my!!
Where exactly can I find the CPS?? From which side/position/place am I able to reach the CPS and replace it?
What exactly do I have to remove to get this job done??
I'm hoping anyone could help my.
Please!!!!!

You find the turbo , on the left
At the bottom of it, behind it, is a square hole. Crank sensor is in there
Apparently it’s possible to change, but looks bad.
There are threads.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Did anyone changed the CPS (got it changed by a workshop) this way?? Is it really possible??
I'm looking/reading treats for weeks now but only finding statements like "should be possible".
If I just missed the right treat with an exact description of the work just guide me to it. Please!!
