No when properly adjusted it will re-latch; the emergency release is not one-way.

All has worked out fine in the end. I had a meeting in Edinburgh today (Thursday) and managed to get the car booked in to Whites Auto Services. Andy said the brakes were seized solid but they managed to free then and clean it up. They had an issue getting it to relatch but took the unit out and stripped it and eventually got it working. A bill for around £130 including a couple of small parts was much more welcome than the £1k others have quoted. The EPB is much quieter when operating than it was before so it must have been building up to an issue for a while.

Nice one Gaza...glad its all done and sorted...they're a top crew up there, and if you have a panic-up they usually try and take you at short notice... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
