Can anyone tell from the part number whether these cubby coolers on eBay (item - eBay Item No. 221214751707) are D3 or D4 in origin?

Good price though if they actually get cold!

I think the part number listed (or part of it) is for a D3

FJB501040PVJ is the D3 cool box

Thanks Ian - the seller has now said he has both versions available.

I just wish I hadn't heard so many people tell me they don't get that cold. I really want one!!

Cool box, lights are but me beers are warm!

Hi,

The factory cool box on my D3 2006 worked well when I got the car in march. Came to use it yesterday, th light comes on and I can hear a fan running but there's no cooling effect what so ever.

Does anyone know how these work ? Are they integrated into the air con system or is it just a fan sitting on a heat sink type of thingy?

Jason, it could be that the Peltier on the cool box needs replacing. Have a look at This Thread Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

At £3.50 for the Peltier on ebay, I've taken a punt this is the faulty part - Hopefully I'll only need to strip the thing out the once !
