From your description I would hazard a guess you got your discs from paddocks and they are usually mintex. I've had problems with mintex pads and discs before on d3's/RRS and I won't use them anymore. Go for oem spec brembo discs they can be found cheap enough on ebay etc

My recommendation : genuine Landrover discs and pads always on a D3.

Brake shudder and tapping front

Thanks for advice chaps. Have re examined brakes and discs.. One piston a little more sluggish than other.freed them up and both same now. Disc had warped again this time 70 thou out. I am having these touch skimmed again and will see if judder has stopped. It had last time. This will confirm it is disc problem, and I have ordered the Brembo eom. About £45 each. Thanks for advising me about Brembo. Talked to them about their discs, and they have their own foundry, and they have high Carbon in manufacture. Was impressed.
I think nowadays a lot of parts are made abroad, and spec is not up to much. Like drills, one hole and throw away. Oh for the good old Sheffield steel production.
Will keep you informed of latest out come when fitted and run

Have now run a few miles and shudder gone.
Therefore It looks as though one piston was more sluggish than other. Discs were poor quality.
Pistons freed and after re skimming discs fault has gone.
Will run a few miles to see if it returns, then will fit new Brembo discs

Shudder came back. Have fitted Brembo discs and have now done 2000 miles and fault completely cured.
So it was poor quality discs
