My best ever was 580 from a tank for most of the tank the computer had a combined range and trip of 700 miles
Not 1 trip but quite a few 60 mile and 80 mile runs with swmbo using it for work 3 times 12 mile round trip
I was desperate to crack the 600 mark but swmbo killed it using it for work and I dare not drive further before refuelling
Computer said 35 mpg at time of refill but I never checked its accuracy that time it's usually 1 or 2 up when checked before
Driving style not slow but not racing any one usually cruise set @68 I find this is much better than 70 for fuel use
05 plate manual 139k running 2so and regular services soon to try tsl Club original turbo
161k and counting

Today's drive to college has the car at 166.6 miles to just over 1/4 tank.
Says 349 miles left on range and 25.3mpg average and 26.4mph average.
Hopefully I can crack the 500 mile mark with it.
Has done 11k since last service so that could be due soon? In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

Hess is your man for TSL, some great MPG from people never thought you could get up over 500 miles on a tank on a D3, looking back I think my shogun was awful on fuel for what it was performance wise.

Unnecessary quote removed
Ah thanks. I'd normally read blurb about products that make claims like that and think that it's a rip off trying to sell you some gack that won't actually do any good. However in this case, given the feedback I could be persuaded. I'll bear it in mind when I actually get to buying a Disco. Skoda 120 - sold

Discovery 3 holds 82 litres.
I assume you will not drive it until completely empty.
So, 4 litres left.
Total = 78 litres of fuel which is 17.16 gallons
Distance = 596 miles on 17.16 gallons = average of 34.73 MPG
As wired4smoke said, is yours a convertible or something?

Now I wish to differ with the fuel capacity of our d3's but I have been able to put more than 80l in mine and it was a bit from running out now 82l is the advertised capacity of the tank now I recon the pipe must hold 3 or 4l I don't know where this comes from that we cannot get all the 82l out
So
82l /4.454 = 18.41 imperial gallons
596/18.41= 32.37 mpg
Doesn't take much to make the figures look more reasonable Club original turbo

Think it all depends on whether this is based on what the computer in the car reads
or if it was a fuel up from empty calculation with the miles traveled.

I don't think the trip will be far out
Uk law states that a speedometer must read not more than 10% over actual speed but never under
This is why sat nav speed is usually indicating less than car speedo
But I have not noticed much discrepancy with a sat nav distance traveled and trip meter
The usual complaint is indicated mpg from the computer and fuel use worked out the old fashioned way against the trip meter
Dave t never mentioned how much he managed to get in when he filled it back up Club original turbo
