Iya Flack, I’ve only got Castrol high temp bearing grease to hand, will this be any good for the application or should I just buy another brand/type more suited? I couldn’t seem to find any like you mentioned last time looking through online shopping? I think I’ve spent about a day on it up until this point following numerous threads and the workshop manual. I also managed to luckily keep the starter motor attached by its cables.

Yes any grease will do except copperslip, I dont have to remove the starter when I do them, its a real pain to do..

Cheers for all the advice, I managed the job on an off at my leisure, I think I spent 2 days graft on it in all and if I had any tips for anyone it would be don’t forget to put the rubber bung back straight away after you’ve removed the crank locking tool and probably a magnetic stick would be handy for dropped bolts.
Lots of helpful threads on here to get you through most jobs, thanks again 🙂
