Just wanted to give a thumbs up for the recent service I received from Bristol Transmissions after hearing of the recommendations on here.
I was suffering the dreaded transmission judder. Dr Tranny’s was only a temporary fix so bit the bullet and gave them a call about a new TC.
With 155k on the clock they were immediately upfront and warned that the box will probably need rebuilding. Once stripped out it was clear the prop shaft was also shot, and Transfer box input shaft was worn. Replacements were recommended but at no time did I fell there was any hard selling to have the additional work done.
They pulled out the stops to finish the work in time for me to combine a trip to Wilts and save a lot of travelling.
I booked their courtesy car and when I called back to check the rental rates I was told ‘Oh no that’s all part of the service’!!
Remanufacture of ZF6H £2,532 inc VAT
Prop £354 inc VAT
Transfer box strip, new seals shaft and reassemble £474 inc VAT
5 Hrs labour £540 inc VAT
Total £4008 inc VAT
12 month/12,000 mile warranty
Their place is huge and are they are the biggest transmission specialist I have ever seen. A big spend but the service is top notch and warrantied. The car is running perfectly and has a new lease of life for another 150k as this is a keeper.
