i robustly deny that I am or have a tw@
however i have and could well be a dick
otherwise i did have the wheel play tested at a local skoda garage and they found a clicking noise but very little play in the front left wheel bearing. they seemed to think that the bearing will last until home. they also tightened the bearing a little more which may or may not have been a good idea, anyway the noise is still there. hope she doesnt seize up and throw me and my family off the road on the way home.

Re: Droning noise

speed related droning noise occurs between 60 and 120 kph with increasing pitch as speed increases. Accel/Decel only changes pitch, not loudness. Engine power ok., no change.
Unaffected by gear change. Seems to be coming from the front. I had new winter tyres 4 weeks ago but the noise started first 2 weeks ago. Asked my wife if she had hit the curb recenty and she said yes, but not at a fast speed. I cant see any scuffing on the tyres and no pulling to one side when coasting or applying brakes so possibly not alignment.
Any other ideas ?
I had the same thing happen to me but when i loaded the car going round left and right hand bends the noise changed i replaced the front hubs problem solved for me hope this helps
